"Simply amazing"
This book was amazing. I listened to it while I was at work, and I actually found myself dreading breaks and lunch, and even going home simply for the excuse of listening to this book. I try to listen to books only while I'm at work so I have something to keep me sane, but I found it very hard to not just bring out my Zune at home and start listening to it once I walked in the door. I didn't regret getting this book even for a second.
I have an addiction to Audio books. What I can't get at the library, I come to Audible and they are always having a sale. I have way more audiobooks than I could possible listen to in over 3 years, but I can't help but adding to my collection and I read a little of everything but mostly romance and paranormal goodies.
"Quite a screamer."
With so much supernatural books out in the market today, there is not a lot of new ideas. This book was great in that it used a new idea for the story. This is the first book that I have read about banshees as the main characters. Although it is a teen book, still worth the read.
"Family Secrets can a little out of hand."
I loved the way the story slowly developed,
and then came rushing at you with full force twist you never
saw coming.
The only thing close to this book that I have read would be the "House of Night" first book
Amanda Roconi, did both the Kaylee and Nash really well but i liked nash
Well, after the first few minutes i really couldn't quit listening.
I am really enjoying the rest of the series
Just a book fool.
"Banshee's a Brat."
This book gets three stars for its extremely unique plot line. Our heroine is a freaking brat. She hates everyone and everything except the boy she falls automatically in love with.. AUTOMATICALLY. If you are interested in the plot then give this one a try but be warned it is really, really teeny.
By the end of the book Kaylee was starting to come around and, I think the next installment will most likely be better but I will never know.
So many people really love this book and maybe I am missing something they are not but My Soul to Take was not my cup of tea.
I mostly listen on my commute. I love Sci-fi, mystery thrillers, vampire love stories, great girlfriend stories and political thrillers.
"Enjoyable quick read with a twist ending!"
I loved this YA novel and look forward to the rest of the series. It was a good storyline, although it was predictable at times. The writer and narrator still kept me wanting to find out how it ends and who was behind it all.
"My Soul to Take: Soul Screamers, Book 1"
I've listened to quite a few audiobooks, but My Soul to Take ranks among the top three.
Kaylee saving her cousin, Sophie's, soul.
Kaylee
Yes, but I couldn't devote that much time to one sitting!
Amanda Ronconi does such an excellent rendering of the different voices. I felt like I was listening to a cast of characters.
"Great YA Series!"
Rachel Vincent really delivers a unique and interesting story with this first installment of the soul screamers series. With a couple of banshees and a grim reaper in tow, these intrepid teens investigate untimely deaths of teenaged girls and the convoluted mystery leads back to an unexpected source. Unlike many amateur sleuths, this young soul screamer really cares about the fallen girls and doggedly pursues their killer.
Amanda Ronconi does a wonderful job voicing the characters. I loved her previous work as the southern voices in Molly Harper's vampire and werewolf series. In fact, I purchased this book because she was reading it. Excellent work, unique characterizations and a youthful tenor to the teens adds to the overall performance.
"New Twist to the Supernatural"
I find most books quite predictable but this story had a few twists I didn't expect and went in a different direction I found quite refreshing. I didn't realize it was a teen book but it was an easy read and despite some of the juvenile behaviors was enjoyable over all.
"Good toward the end but slow to start"
I think I might have liked this story better if I had read it instead of listening to the audible. The narrator was ok but nothing to write home about. I thought the story had good merit. It's something different when the market has been flooded with vampire and werewolf stories, but the main character kinda annoyed me up until the last few chapters when she actually got a back bone. She seemed very whiny and boy crazy in the first part of the book. I think the next book will be better because she has found out what she is and much of the extent of her abilities. It's a good read if you can get past her whiny attitude in the first part of the book.
"Great Audio"
Very good reading on behalf of Amanda Ronconi. She is consistant with her voices and gives voices that fit with the character.
The heroine is so-so. Her attitude makes her very seem self-centered and younger than her 15yrs. The rest of the Characters are good.
