This book is a must for everyone. It taught me a lot about the way people think and act. In addition, it is a touching and heart warming story. The narrator does an excellent job on conveying the emotion and message of this tale. Fantastic.
Note that this version is Richard Howard's translation from 2000, not the classic Katherine Woods translation from 1943. The differences between the two translations are explained well in a review of the the book by Allie Jones at http://www.amazon.com/gp/cdp/member-reviews/AWQLWCJWUCAGS/#R2BDXSMVPJKRYO
Such a sweet, moving tale that not only tugs at your heartstrings, but reminds you of little life lessons as The Little Prince interprets them. Great for children and children-at-heart. 💙
I hadn't read this classic for years so i took a chance on the audiobook, relying on my memory for the illustrations. I'm so glad i did. Humphrey Bower gave a reading that was as close to perfect as i can imagine. If you're on the fence as to whether or not to buy the audio version of a "picture book", Go for it!
The narrator is great, but this translation of the book loses some of it's power. Wish it was the same narrator with the Katherine Woods translation instead
How did I not know about this magnificent story before the age of 40? I would recommend this book to absolutely everyone! This book had everything and more! The narration was perfect.
Never lonely with a good book in hand
This is my favorite book and has been for over 50 years. The narrator is great with the voices and the feeling behind them although at the end I expected a bit more emotion. Also, the English translation wasn't the same as in my original book and memory I have of nearly every word of dialogue. However,
there is a Translator's Note that mentions this and the obligation of the translator to capture the true feeling of the original translation to keep the story consistent. I think the original is better suited to the feeling in the original French. However I would still recommend this audio version to everyone as it is not a book for children only. It has hidden gems revealed with each reading.
One should read this once a year. Brilliant and magic in its simplicity as de Saint Exupery unveils the mystery of life. The narration captured perfectly the essence of the book. Let us all once more view our days through the eyes of a child.

This is an ageless, and the timeless work and to hear it on audio masterfully narrated by Humphrey Bower just took it to the ultimate heights of enjoyment.
