This story is laugh out loud funny in some parts and heartbreaking in others. The narrators are great. Highly recommend this book.
I am a fantasy fanatic, and just finished the "Mistborn" trilogy, which was fantastic. I did not want to get another fantasy, because it was so good. I happened on this book and got it because of the reviews, four or five star reviews every day since it's release, and I am very glad I did. This book will move you to laughter and to tears. The characters and the story are crafted superably. I was concerned that the multiple narators would be confusing, far from it. Best naration I've experienced.
Everything about this book I love. The writing is intelligent, the story gripping and the readers are perfect. I have read many books on my ipod but this is the first that has keep me up till 3 a.m. listening. There has not been one down moment, one dialogue I wish was written better or one plot twist that hasn't been perfect.
This is a wonderful story set between three narrators. Although the political history is a major part of the novel, this is carefully crafted through human narratives and deeply personal stories. I was rapidly pulled in. A great listen - I highly recommend it!
This was the BEST narrated book I've gotten from Audible out of about 50 books. The Help is a fabulous book made better by the way it was produced. It really sets a new standard. Painful to read at times, it was funny, horrifying, bittersweet and full of love.
I had never heard of this book before seeing it on Audible.com and after reading the reviews decided to take a chance. WHAT A GREAT BOOK!!! The women who do the reading really draw you in to the story and make you feel like you're right there in the story. I feel that this book has a great message that everyone should read. It also makes me VERY happy that I was born in the late 60's and that so many things have changed since then!
As a woman who grew up in the 1960's South, I can vouch for the accuracy of the details in this absorbing novel. Also, this is the best narration of any audiobook I've enjoyed to date.
This is probably my favorite audio book yet. The story is very moving and the narration is top notch. My only complaint is that I didn't want it to end...
