A great book and a terrific audio recording. Great character development. Unexpected ending. Wonderful voices to listen to. One of the best books I've downloaded in years.
Worth more than 1 credit!! This book is a going to be a classic, just like the Color Purple. I listened, mesmerized, loving every moment.
Great book about the civil rights movement, bravery, forgiveness, and just enough revenge to add some fabulous spice. Wonderful characters and dialog. The women who narrated brought this tale to life. I'm still enthralled.
An amazing book. I normally restrict my listening to driving. I threw out the rule book for this one.
I grew up in the south, though not in the privileged class of the "white ladies" of this book, and the writer did an excellent job of showing their prejudice. Good book. I especially enjoyed the readers---very good pronunciation, without being disrespectful.
Absolutely marvelous! I'm so glad I listened to the readers choice guide and downloaded this audiobook. Being born and raised in the south I found the characters real and true to southern life in the 1960s. The narration was wonderful and the voices rich and true to life. I hated to see it end.
thank you for such an enlightened view of the actual reality of life in the south. How being of a certain class seemed to entitle you to treat others badly. I'm impressed by the characters ability to remain proud and yet daring to risk everything to let the world know their sufferings. Hurray to The Help, Hurray to Skeeter and Hurry to Kathryn Stockett. Couldn't put the book down!
This was a beautifully written book about the struggles of blacks during the times of civil rights. The narration was spectacular. It was a great story
