NO - the audio performance is terrible. The reader is different than the first few books and clearly hasn't listened to any of the previous performances. He changes the pronunciation of several of the characters names. The performance and “special effects” really detract from the story.
The plot was good -
Read the book! The special effects added when a call is placed or a televison report is being told is - abysmal.
A better narrator would have helped.
No, there are good books and bad narrators, and bad books with good narrators.
He read the voice lines like a 3rd. grader, although I really do not want to insult a 3rd. grader. He is the worst narrator I have ever heard.
Toss this book, it is not work the listen. or even the special price of $4.95.
This story was merely OK. I found that the author writes in a very simple style and perhaps could have benefitted from a thesaurus. If I never hear the words "he said" again, it will have been 100 times too many.
The narrator really did not feel the story and his pacing did not match the story.
It was a relatively short story, but I am not sure it is worth a credit. Wait for it to go on sale.
This is a very good book and I recommend it. It holds your attention and you will like this book.
