This book belongs in the religion, fantasy section. It has nothing to do with politics--so don't be misled. If you're interested in conservative religious doctrine, and being preached to...this is a book for you. If not, don't bother.
I anticipated a political thriller from the synopsis. Although there is a story here, it is totally bogged down in evangelical Christianity. I found it very heavy-handed, and it completely overwhelmed the story. It was very disappointing.
I was completely misled by the reviews and "teaser" about this book.
It is a fundamentalist christian rant that goes on Bible verse after Bible verse after Bible verse ad nauseam. Mr. Rosenberg should give up writing and switch to being the fundamentalist preacher he really is. It would spare the rest of us from his "prose."
Take your bible with you when/if you decide to buy this sad - would be - political thriller. If you thought the film about Jesus Camp" was a great film - you will love this book. If you actually understood the message of Jesus Camp - to be a form of child abuse - you will NOT like this book....if I hear one more reference to the war of "gog and maygog"......be saved and pass the pepto!
I enjoyed the concept of the storyline and felt it had lots of potential. However, between the uneventful love story and references to faith, it became clear that the book was not a political drama but rather, a religious sermon in disguise.
If I wanted to listen to a blatantly self promoting "Jews for Jesus" pamphlet disguised as a novel, I certainly wouldn't pay for it. There are many better political/espionage thrillers out there without having to listen to Rosenberg's evangelical agenda. Save your time and money and look elsewhere.
