Truly an outstanding book. Thrillng and amazing right up through the last page. Follows the Bible as do his other books.
Never a dull moment in Joel Rosenberg's novels!
All of them: Phil has the talent to make characters real from the start. Brings accented language to them all making the differences so great.
His books elevate one's heart rate!
Read all of Joel's books in order for the best continual story.
A school administrator and avid reader and listener of books. At least an hour of every day is spent in the car, and that's where the bulk of my listening is done. I tend to listen to books on "faster" mode so I can get through more books!
I absolutely loved the entire series and could hardly wait to finish it. The story was intriguing and the narration compelling. I appreciated how the series ended and the challenges offered to my own religious beliefs.
This is proselytising wrapped in a story..The basic story is good ,however if you are not a 'born again Christian ' you quickly tire of the religious instruction ,which in most cases is irrelevant to the story.
After listening to this book, I realized that I need to start reading the reviews. If i would have known what the book was all about i wouldn't have downloaded. Just not my tast in books. I'm sure if you like the Left Behind series, you'd love this one...
This book is a sermon in disguise under the umbrella of mystery writing. I'd attend bible study for a spiritual experience. i would not have purchase this book had i known what it was really about. the synopsis was well written to steer away from any religous reference, but that's pretty much what the book is about...Jews and Christ which would be fine if that's what the description of the book was about. I feel mislead and i do not recommend this book.
I wish I had known in advance that the core of this book was built around Bible prophecies and the "final days" scenarios. Utterly silly overlay of "come to Jesus" moments with spy novel and war scenarios. The end is totally ridiculous and beyond the pale of anything approaching beleivability. I woudl give no stars if that option were allowed.
This book belongs in the religion, fantasy section. It has nothing to do with politics--so don't be misled. If you're interested in conservative religious doctrine, and being preached to...this is a book for you. If not, don't bother.
I anticipated a political thriller from the synopsis. Although there is a story here, it is totally bogged down in evangelical Christianity. I found it very heavy-handed, and it completely overwhelmed the story. It was very disappointing.
I was completely misled by the reviews and "teaser" about this book.
It is a fundamentalist christian rant that goes on Bible verse after Bible verse after Bible verse ad nauseam. Mr. Rosenberg should give up writing and switch to being the fundamentalist preacher he really is. It would spare the rest of us from his "prose."
