Born again Christians
stop telling me who's speaking and just perform. Movement from one scene to another was not consistent.
interesting geo-political situations...but not really plausible.
Life is a journey, enjoy it......because one day it will all end.
I have listened to the entire series. There were a few points in this book that I thought about shutting it off because it became a bit much. All in all the story is not bad but there are times when the author gets a bit preachy. I consider myself religious, but there are times in this book where it goes a bit overboard. I would say if you are a big fan of the Left Behind series then you would like this book.
I need characters that are more than one-dimensional stereotypes. They could have limited all the frenetic narrative and political speculation which stalled the action and made the characters minor players in the story. I got sick of listening to the narrator screaming about the devastation over and over and over and over. Finally turned the thing off.
The frenetic narrative for hours gave me a headache.
Too much time wasted on political speculation on who was the enemy. I could watch fox news if I that kind of stuff entertained me.
After the opening, the action stalled and disintegrated into political speculation and intrigue by stereotypical villains. There was little time spent on developing the characters. the story just bounced around from one person to the next without giving enough time for me to get to know any one character.
The story ends with an heroic climax. The possibility that prophecy might turn out this way is interesting.
The relationship between the hero and heroine.
The way it was done, drew me into the imagination of the story. It felt as if I was there.
It makes me weep for the USA and for the fate of the world when alienated from God.
Read the entire series!
Truly an outstanding book. Thrillng and amazing right up through the last page. Follows the Bible as do his other books.
Never a dull moment in Joel Rosenberg's novels!
All of them: Phil has the talent to make characters real from the start. Brings accented language to them all making the differences so great.
His books elevate one's heart rate!
Read all of Joel's books in order for the best continual story.
A school administrator and avid reader and listener of books. At least an hour of every day is spent in the car, and that's where the bulk of my listening is done. I tend to listen to books on "faster" mode so I can get through more books!
I absolutely loved the entire series and could hardly wait to finish it. The story was intriguing and the narration compelling. I appreciated how the series ended and the challenges offered to my own religious beliefs.
This is proselytising wrapped in a story..The basic story is good ,however if you are not a 'born again Christian ' you quickly tire of the religious instruction ,which in most cases is irrelevant to the story.
After listening to this book, I realized that I need to start reading the reviews. If i would have known what the book was all about i wouldn't have downloaded. Just not my tast in books. I'm sure if you like the Left Behind series, you'd love this one...
This book is a sermon in disguise under the umbrella of mystery writing. I'd attend bible study for a spiritual experience. i would not have purchase this book had i known what it was really about. the synopsis was well written to steer away from any religous reference, but that's pretty much what the book is about...Jews and Christ which would be fine if that's what the description of the book was about. I feel mislead and i do not recommend this book.
I wish I had known in advance that the core of this book was built around Bible prophecies and the "final days" scenarios. Utterly silly overlay of "come to Jesus" moments with spy novel and war scenarios. The end is totally ridiculous and beyond the pale of anything approaching beleivability. I woudl give no stars if that option were allowed.
