This was a really easy book to listen to. I'm just trying to get my busniss of the ground, and this book really gave me some great ideas for new market strategy to put into my business plan. I highly recomend it for anyone in this situation, or for anyone looking for new ways to make a profit in their existing business.

Quite a dense book, wrapped in a dialogue between coach and student. Works well, but they discuss diagrams a fair bit, and is tough to follow when only listening. Overall a very useful piece of work.
Author tried to make this a colorful dialog, but I found myself rolling my eyes and wishing they'd get to the point even at 1.25x speed.
This book is a guide - a story - an approach to finding profit centres in your business.
In the story form, the book is gripping - the back story sometimes makes you feel the real challenges in applying a profit models in your business.
As a guide - you feel the need to learn more about the profit models and how they have been derived. Not all profit models described can be adapted to your industry straight away, but they are good starting point for discussions and insights from the book might help you build a profit model which can work for you.
In my opinion both Steve and Zhao are interesting. While reading you will find yourself trying to get ahead of Steve to answer a question which the learned Zhao has asked.

I have heard the term business model many times through out my career and have always felt a bit mysified by the term. This book helps you understand what that means and how to think about the general problem of making a profit.
I have listened to it twice and am very sure I will do so twice more before year end. Great book
The concept was good. But a fiction writer this guy is not.
I think it is still worth listening to, however. Slywotzky is a great thinker. The format is actually useful. The ideas are eye-opening. It's hard to look at businesses from now on with out categorizing them. I highly recommend this book, and will be looking for more books from this author.
