Nothing is better than print.
Yes. Great story for 5th graders and older - even for adults.
Fun, well performed, enjoyable.
This isn't just a rat infestation - it's a battle.
The chapters are off - says 9 but there are many more chapters than this. Hard to follow along in the book (as I have my 11 year old daughter do). Is this the app on my iPhone 5s? Would love to have chapters working properly.
My granddaughter introduced me to the books years ago and when I found them on audio, I was thrilled. I love Brian Jacques narration and the cast does wonderful voice work creating each character.
I think there is something in these books for all ages!
I loved all of the characters but especially Matthias who found out that he had an inner warrior that he never knew about
Brian Jacques and the cast bring the characters to life. I can see Matthias, Methuselah, Warbeak and of course, Cluny the Scourge among many others when I hear their voices.
Methuselah's death was so sad.
Fun, exciting, imaginative
All the characters were very well voiced.
Hearing it brings more of a life like quality to the characters, helping immerse the reader into the story.
From reading these books years ago as a kid, listening to them again has been a great pastime.
Yes,i would. The narrators are so good and there is a lot of action.
How Matthias is so brave agenst cluny the scourge.
It is easy to understand the different people and it is fun to listen to the their voices.
When Basil stag hair tricked the rats I laughed so hard.
I originally read "Redwall" during a difficult period of my childhood. The animals of Mossflower gave me a second home to escape to as I struggled through life and a series of hospital visits. Matthias' strength and determination inspired me.
I've always enjoyed "full cast" readings, reminding me of the days of old radio dramas. I find them more engaging than just a standard reading, but a lot of audiobooks don't seem to do them anymore.
The fact that Brian Jacques reads his own work is a special treat for me, considering Mr. Jacques passed from this world in 2011. Having that small part of him linger on in connection with his work will continue to make this book and the entire Redwall series a special part of my life and my library.
Freshly graduated from college and working hard to figure out what my next step will be. Books and stories are my escape from the world.
Brain Jacques has given the world one of the best written and engaging tales of love, compassion and team work. The woodland creatures present an amazing set of morals within stories that can hold anyone's attention start to finish. The full production cast can throw you for a loop if you are used to a single reader but by the end of the story you will be well used to in and appreciate the entire production immensely! I am an avid reader and listener too many kinds of fiction on a daily basis and it all stems from reading these books as child with my parents. Every family should introduce these stories to their children as early as possible.
This book has tremendous value for young people thinking about the church today! Redwall will inspire children of all ages including adults to find their place in the church and defend the community from attackers! Terrific cast of characters, great humor, a sword quest, discovery, intrigue, battle-- it's all here!I actually cried when Matthias takes his stand!
The sense of discovery in finding the sword.
many of the characters are done to a T. Proper emphasis.
this book is very enjoyable for adults, but for young people between nine and 12--excellent!
Absolutely fantastic! I bought all the Redwall series books available for my Aunt who has Parkenson's disease and can no long hold a book to read. When I put the ear phoones in her ears and turned on the first book, the look on her face was priceless! Thanks to everyone responsible for making these books available on audible. We both enjoyed reading them in book form, many many times, and now my aunt can again enjoy them!
Excellent story with great characters. Was suprised by the level of violence so I would not recomend this for kids younger than twelve or so. Some of the voice actors in this audio book are exellent while others are more amateurish.
