I wish they had this book in an unabridged format, especially since it's the first in the series!
For Rizzoli & Isles (TNT) fans, this is a prequel to the series!
I love excitement and relaxation. I love reading and playing games and spending time with my family
I was very disappointed in this book. there was a few parts that was getting exciting then let me down. I tried listening to it again and just couldn't. maybe it was the reader that did not make it interesting or just the book itself. I could not finish something that could not capture me. and it seemed like it would skip from one story to the next and felt a bit lost.
as a Abridge book something is better than nothing.
Its a great start. answer some of those weird questions your may have regarding the TV series.
Looking forward to the rest and the new summer series(TV)
yes, I looking for opportunity to finish the book
I have read another Rizzoli and Isles book and really liked it. This book had only Rizzoli in it which isn't bad. It was a bit more graphic then I expected.
Yes but would tell them to be prepared for the discriptiveness.
Moore-the male working with Rizzoli
As mysteries go, this is a great one. Though I'm a classical detective novel fan, this is all it needs to be - cold, brutal, disquieting, suspenseful.
This is the first in the series, but I found the details of attacks and murders too gory. The story line is good, but I like my murder mysteries less gritty and no detailed torture.
It has turned me off from possibly reading the rest in this series, not the genre.
Absolutely. Moves quickly. I hated to stop.
Dennis kept the characters crisp.
This is my first Gerritsen audio book. It will not be my last.
Yes...I love this series and I loved the twist.
Dr. Isles of course, she kept her cool in the midst of everything.
The Surgeon is the "first" in the Rizzoli and Isles books. I was a little disappointed that Jane was NOT the featured character and Isles was non-existant; however, the story was really good. I would have liked a bit more development in the characters and story, but all in all I found the book good and creepy!
The plot was a bit disjointed in places and relationships were not rounded out, but the suspense was pretty good. Some twists that seemed out of left field. I would recommend the book.
Boutsikaris's narration was the best part of the book. He used a wonderful creepy voice when we are taken into the mind of a killer. Haunting.
The most memorable character in The Surgeon was the killer! This is mostly due to Boutsikaris's utterly creepy "madman" voice! I will hear it in my head for a long time.
I am a fan of Rizolli & Isles TV series, that's the reason I bought this audio book. Story is great but the narration by Dennis Boutsikaris is terrible!! I will definitely not listen to another book narrated by him
