I listen to the Dave Ramsey show over the radio and he hooked me into learning how to get out of debt. I am now getting started on the first "baby" step and I am going to try my hardest to "live like no one else!" He is aggressive in his approach and to me it is motivating. Definitely a great audio book for somebody who is sick and tired of being sick and tired of being in debt!
I just finished this and have already started the snowball out of debt. This book is about a way of living, not about how to get rich quick. There are some fascinating ideas. I really enjoyed this book.
There are some serious gems in this book well worth the read. It's hard listening to Ramsey change the: “give no thought for the morrow”... “It's easier for a wealthy man to pass through the eye of a needle” ... “The poor shall inherit,” etc etc etc into Christian-Wealth-Republican-Man is what Jesus wants... (He spends almost a chapter on this argument).
The occasional scripture reference and redneck sneer at intelligence is hard to take seriously. Yet Ramsey has some very important things to say on budgeting, getting out of debt, and building wealth.
This book is a must read, in spite of all the silly superstition.
Most of us know what the problem is. This book makes sure that we understand exactly what the problem is. Most of us think we know how to solve it. This book tells exactly how to start the solving of our financial hardships. A great book. I've reread it several times. Another must read
