starting my total money make over. and I am so excited! I have doubled if not tripled my monthly savings! I feel great! my mind is at ease at night. and I owe it to Dave and this book for motivation and know how to show it to me!!
I didn't like the personal stories though. just felt out of place.
Dave Ramsey does a great job of explaining money myths and giving advice without any fluff.
My only criticism would be that the testimonial stories at the end of some chapters weren't needed and sounded like actors. I'd rather hear the author read them.
I enjoyed listening to this book. I was very informative and easy to follow. i am definitely incorporating the steps into my financial planning and you should too.
This book might be appropriate for a college age kid who knows absolutely nothing about money, I think it could be really good basic info....but I suggest not buying the audio version- unless you want to be belittled by angry infomercial voice man.
Dave Ramsey has a wonderful way of telling how to 'Live like no one else, so later you can Live like no one else'. Dave had me laughing at times listening to his captivating teachings that are applied by biblical proverbs. I am now ready 'to live like no one else'. Thank~You Dave Ramsey. Wholeheartedly, Aries.
This book should be given to every 16 year old worldwide!!! There is more in THIS book than any institution is teaching about personal finance and personal wealth. Thanks, Dave Ramsey!!!
Props to Dave Ramsey, I've been changing my life with just a few simple but quite obvious and sometimes nerving steps. But when applied are incredibly helpful, fulfilling, and exciting (baby) steps! While listening, religious references are somewhat blatant but only referenced and not meant to be derogatory. I recommend this book to ANYONE who handles, looks, or receives money in any way, shape, or form. Life Changing!
Lots of useful information. I've been fed the same lies about money and debt over the years, but when Dave lays them out for you, they just make sense. I definitely had a couple of "well DUH!" moments while listening to this book.
Definitely going to start investing more and paying off the little bit of debt that I have with a more ferocious fervor.
Part advice, part motivation. Dave Ramsey reminds me of a high school coach (one who actually knows what he's talking about) teaching a class on personal finance. I plan to apply what I've learned to my daily life.
Yes, there are some principles that will help people practically manage money better.
The Christian influence of David's suggestions. Accumulating wealth is not the end goal, giving it away is.
Excitement about the ideas presented.
The order in which we should pay off loans.
While it may not be practical for many to follow all of David's suggestions to a "T", the book offers many practical ideas on how to radically change the way we view and spend money.
