My eyes don't allow me to read much, so audio books are great!
Explanation of the 7 baby steps
Knowledgeable, and sure of himself, not a salesman.
We are using the entire plan in our life, at this moment, whole family is on board and Gazelle intense.
If you find him to sound "angry", well people should be angry, this should have been taught in at least high school if not in grade school. If you find him to sound "condescending" then you are probably guilty of the subject matter he discussing and possibly it is your guilt and not his condescension you are perceiving. This man has freely given this knowledge, except the cost of the book, does not ask for, sell, or promote and goods or services that would directly benefit him. If you have money problems, yes, listen to this book. Our family, marriage, and financial future have been saved by listening to this book. God Bless Dave Ramsey!!
The author shares his personal experience to illustrate the lessons he's learned the hard way about financial success.
I found the delivery to be rather patronizing which I found irritating but overall the message and advice offered is solid.
Some of the advice was helpful. But do people really need to be told that you must spend less that you make in order to be financially sound? That is the entire book in one sentence. If they don't already know that then this book won't help. Some advice was just plain wrong and or stupid. Overall, I think this author is more interested in pushing his political and religious agenda than anything else.
Yes not to read or listen to Dave Ramsey.
Don't waste your money on this trash.
I am forever reading and listening to these types of books. As far a content goes, this is right up there with the rest of them. Contains everything that we should know (and mostly know already) and points you in the right direction. Ramsey also narrates with the passion that he feels for the subject matter. All in all a good and worthwile purchase.
I was told about Dave Ramsey one day and his radio show. I thought he was another snake oil salesman. Boy was I wrong! I learned about finances through PFS and worked with them for a while. I listened to the radio show for a while and then stopped due to having no time. Then I went through Financial Peace University (FPU) in 2012 to learn more and I did. I was already doing my debt snowball and reduced my debt. I read this book simply because I haven't and I did it with a friend who was in trouble themselves and need help yet won’t seek it. I learned some things I missed or forgot to do from FPU. I can always learn something. I agree that this book should be given to all teens and they should be required to read it before high school graduation.
The reality of how important it is to rethink about what your money does and what you do with your money. Some common sense. But alot of reality check. Bank account check. Action steps that make sense just like diet and exercise but so few will do. Well worth the read or listen. Would recommend to anyone who is not already where they want to be financially.
Ps I am a financial advisor and realize that I can take Dave's advise and put it to good use.
I listen to this book at least once a month and can nearly recite it word for word. I had several false starts to starting this programme, but have finally knuckled down to clear debt. The book sets out a no nonsense approach to clearing debt and building wealth, saving for retirement, saving for the kids education and clearing the mortgage. I live in the UK and am a native brit and yet this book rings true here as much as it does in the US. I find daves approach more sensible than other advice given by the likes of money saving experts which suggests using credit cards to get money back deals, use all your savings to clear debt instead of having a small rainy day fund and clear the highest % rate debt first. Daves approach is completely different and I have found it more logical and it is working for me. Buy this audio book and help to change your economic life. I only wished I had learned this approach 20 years ago - I would be very wealthy now.
The information was good and motivational.
Overly dramatic, almost like it was forced. Let the words speak for them self, save the drama for the radio.
I would listen to this book again because it brings you back to the basics of becoming financially sucessful
I would recommend this reading this book before reading Rich dad poor dad or any real estate book.
Dave Ramsey and his story was my favorite I read this book to understand his views
We don't need credit
Most people want to make money before correcting their current situation first. Dave Ramsey brings people back to the basics and in my opinion he puts you on better path. I highly recommend people read or listen to this book more than 10 times because a lot will fly over your head. On first listen most people will only remember the tips he gives on what not to sign up for but I think the most important thing about this book is the way Dave Ramsey looks at money if people adopt Dave Ramsey's mentality regarding money I think they will find more value out of this book!
