The information given out. It's a great way to recognize manipulation and tack around to avoid it.
I thought Jeff David's reading was overkill--almost Snidely Whiplash-ish. I could see him kneading and rolling his hands. I don't get why these readers can't just read the damn book instead of trying to act.
this wouldn't be a movie
Breath taking history
Originality...Never seen the horizons of the subject before Robert revealed it. This is a life change experience book.
Amazing...very expressive and touching.
Seduction is a basic characteristic of Human history.
Special congratulations for the narrator for his terrific performance.
Slimy, Underhanded, Unethical
The narration of this book was very captivating. It was also very informative on people's ways of getting what they want, under any circumstance, throughout history. I cringed so many times as the narrator described so many actions of people that I ditched from my life because they were just fake and horrible people! I do have a better understanding of the human psyche after listening, and will never be one to be seduced in any such manner as was described. It was definitely an engrossing book; Very well done.In short, this book was very informative and entertaining. If you choose to apply the techniques in this book, you will live a wonderful life full of games, trysts and stuff... and end up old and alone without any real relationships. Everyone finds out your game in the end, and no one likes to be played. ;-)
I feel kind of like all I did was learn how to identify different types of seductors - not how to operate as one or how to select which one would work in a given situation. Bought the book with intentions of applying the principals at work for career advancement (as advertised and without sex). I was pretty disappointed that my expectations were not met. Nonetheless, it was an interesting read and the "Publisher's Summary" did not oversell it terribly. I'll probably listen again some day and hopefully pick up on some subtleties I missed the first time.
Yes - I have tried reading the print version multiple times, but day to day distractions have prevented that for a number of years now. So had it not been for the audio version, I would have never completed it.
-- and --
No - At times, the narrator tends to put much verbal attention to the word "Seduction". You don't pay much attention to it at first, but after a while it gets distracting. He backs off on the emphasis as the book continues, so it is only a temporary annoyance. With this one exception, Jeff David proved to be an excellent Narrator.
I wish Audible would come up with the equivalent of an audio Table of Contents. There were times I wanted to go back and review some of the previous points but would give up trying to find it again after a couple of minutes. It would be nice if Audible could push down some pre-made bookmarks which approximate the functionality of the Table of ContentsOverall - Excellent listen, recommended if you are a fan of Robert Greene.
Good book but I like his other titles alot better. 4 out of 5 stars.
Not write it at all, I want that hour of my life back.
Jeff is great at creating interest, I truly think his talent is totally wasted in here.
I tried hard to find something good about this book, I wanted badly to justify my purchase and my time, but it felt that to continue listening was only making matters worse.
This book has succeeded in seducing me into buying it and I have to give it credit for that, but it has failed in holding my interest, if this book was a person, not only they would've failed in seducing me but they would've succeeded in inviting ridicule and great disappointment, I must be living in a different world than that of the author's where human beings are much smarter.
It was so much more effective for me to actually hear these words spoken as oppesed to reading them because of many reasons. For one, I was listening to him speak as if he was a professor giving me a lecture on this as the course. I was really into each chapter, I am really glad that i now have it, to hear whenever I please.
I love how Robert Green uses examples of events that happened in history to explain one of his theories. He is an awesome author, and teacher.
All of them, and it's cool how i can refer back to my audio book, wherever and whenever i want. Complete freedom. Very efficient for my scheduale.
I LOVE AUDIBLE.COM!!!
I read the same author's Laws of Power, and though it also had an overly melodramatic style, I thought it very entertaining and even informative if one has also read other, weightier books on human nature and philosophy to compare it with.
This book is just silly though. Really. I'm embarrassed that I bought it. My interest is in human nature, and reading people in general, not seduction per se but I thought this would make a good addition to other books on the non-verbal reading of people. It doesn't and unless you're 16 years old and just getting your hands on every bit of information possible, save your money. Go to Psychology Today's website and type in word searches for the questions you need answered. That kind of relevant research will be much more helpful.
Addicted to Audible since 2009
I really like the way the author uses history to proves his points throughout the book and I also, enjoyed the way the way in which is was written similar to the of the art of war but overall, the book was just okay and I don't think I got too much out of it.
