I bought this one because of the cost.
I was so suprised at how much I enjoyed this book.
A well written book with good characters. Very descriptive and unusual.
The reader was excellent. Not because he used a lot of voices but he use puncuation and inflections is all the right places.
A very good listen.
I get a lot of the daily specials when they are close to at least 10 hours and in a genre I like. This was one of the best (of the specials). It would have been well worth a full credit. A superb mystery with a great story and narrator. Well worth the money. Enjoy!! I have listened to 230+, mostly in this genre at audible, and I highly recommend it.
Brilliant and moody, it skillfully blends past and present, history and fiction to the point that the edges blur. The narrator's weary, plaintive reading perfectly reflects the characters portrayed. Excellent!
This is the first book of Steve Thayer's that I have read or listened to. I found it to be very thought provoking, suspenseful, and dark...I loved it. I loved the interweaving of history into the story creating art. I did notice that the narrator matched the tone of the book and I appreciated it.
I took my laptop everywhere with me to listen to this story. I will read or listen to Steve Thayer stories again.
This narrator is extremely hard to under stand. I listened to the entire book. Had to keep rewinding to understand and still missed a lot. Great story which I'm sure would have been better had I been able to understand all of it.
A wonderful and suspenseful tale that could entertain one for many hours, but the narrator sounds like he is on his last leg and may not make it to the end of the book. I finally became so frustrated with the dialogue that I quit listenting and deleted the book from my library. Save your money!
