With a wonderful story, compelling author and superb narrator, this is a perfect choice for renewing ones enthusiasm for life and goodwill toward others. It's also simply a great listen.

A perfect rendition of a classic Christmas story which kept me entertained on my drive home for the holidays. Jim Dale is and will remain my favorite audiobook narrator of all time. Though, it's hard to get out of the world of Harry Potter whenever I hear him, and I recognized some of the voices/accents he used in the HP books. But it didn't detract from the story---in fact, it added to it because it gave A Christmas Carol a totally new dimension for me as I imagined it taking place in Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade. ;-)
Part time artist - Like to listen to audiobooks when I am working and creating.
A Christmas carol is one of my all time favorite stories add to that Jim dales narration and I absolutely loved it.
I just love Jim Dale. His narrations are always so entertaining
I'm not sure where to rank it honestly.
I can find none.
Voices and excellent narration.
A great version of a classic.
Listen, don't mess with A Christmas Carol - just read it and Dickens will do all the rest. No retelling, no special gimmick - just give it do me in an English accent. I loved Dale in the Harry Potter series, and he does a great job here. There are times when I hear Dobby the house elf, but that's okay, he does a great job with the spirits and Scrooge. So enjoy Christmas and have a go with this edition, you won't regret it.
Worth the read.
I've just listened to "A Tale of Two Cities" at this point. I would not chose to compare.
Remorse & determination to change Schrooge felt as the lessons the spirits revealed became clear.
Was well entertained. Experienced moments of humor, sadness, sympathy and joy.
Jim Dale has a hypnotic voice that puts you into the story from the very beginning, and leaves you wanting more at the end.
Love the story period & Jim Dale is always fun to listen to.
Marley - have stage managed the production a number of times & got my husband to play Marley twice - brings back wonderful memories.
It was difficult to separate Jim Dale from his Harry Potter recordings to start with - but once the story pulled me in I thoroughly enjoyed all the characterizations.
Jim Dale takes a favorite classic to a new level. Excellent voice work on an excellent tale.
Always a favorite of mine, Scrooge in his pre-reformation self saying about the poor & infirm, "If they are going to die, then let them die and decrease the surplus population." This line says so much about Scrooge's character, and gives a glimpse of just how far, so far this human being has to go to become the Scrooge at the end of the book.
Having just finished the "Harry Potter" series prior to the Christmas season, I kept seeing the characters I had created in my mind from the Potter books in the roles of "A Christmas Carol." But Jim Dale's work makes this book truly come alive.
Dickens meets Harry Potter's narrator, and what a wonderful world!
