I tend to find my time for enjoying books limited, and seems I never find enough time to catch up to my rapidly growing library. Yet, I loved this story so much after listening the first time, I encouraged my husband to choose this one for our long car trip. The storytelling and this reader are perfect. I will never forget Richard Parker, or Pi Patel.
I listen to audible books during my commute and this one is so engaging that it was difficult to stop listening to when I reached my destination. Initially I felt the narration was little odd but after a couple of chapters I really liked it, Mr Jeff did a brilliant job. Full marks to the author for making the readers believe the story of Pi and Richard Parker for a long while. Absolutely loved the book!!!
The story keeps you going and you get to know PI very intimately. His courage and sense of truth and what is right comes from a pure heart. The ending caught me by surprise but after discussing it with someone I understood PI's rationale for it.
Recommended by a friend. Starts slow, but turns into a great story. Stick with it and you'll be happy you did. A book you'll want to talk to people about.
I don't normally write reviews, as I am never quite sure what to say, but this book is engaging on so many levels that I encourage you to listen! Jeff Woodman is an excellent narrator and Yann Martel a fantastic story teller...I want more!
Such and interesting plot and what an incredible way of writing. Very interesting and varied perspectives. Outstanding combination of themes. Good read.
This is sheer genius. Martel's ability to tell a gripping story and then lure you in to realizing this is truly profound metaphor is true art. One of the best books I have read in years and it now affects deeply how I look at the world and how I see the frailty and bias of our observations. I loved the story and loved even more the lifelong lessons I took from it.
This is a great fantastical story narrated beautifully by Jeff Woodman. Like all audible books, the narrator really makes or break the experience, not the writing and this one is a winner.
Not only was this story one to keep - it makes you think about it for months afterwards. The narrator is fantastic - he makes the story real and his voice draws the images in my head. I would not hesitate to recommend this book to anyone!
