Whether examining Tolkien's own journey to create Middle-Earth, the Rankin/Bass animated TV features, the pair of Jackson trilogies, or even more obscure adaptations, the author is exhaustive in his examination of the creation and subsequent adaptions of Middle-Earth in all it's mediums. A wonderful read for Tolkien aficionados.
