When he was young, getting even was simple, like putting dirt in someone's drink when they weren't looking. But at Eaton, the hazing had become much more personal and intense. On more than one occasion Silas had been embarrassed by a group of entitled prats acting like they were better than everyone else.

So, getting even had to reach a new level of sophistication and severity. Recalling a particularly dreadful event, Silas seized upon the perfect scheme; one that would put an end to his misery once and for all. He simply had to commit murder.
