Xavier is just an ordinary fox trying out a new trail in a park, but as he finds himself in an area of the forest he had never been before and stumbles upon an old monastery or temple he finds that not everything about the natural world is as it seems. He meets with the patron of the temple, another fox wrapped in vines who calls himself Yavini, and the powerful creature has an offer for Xavier to become a magical creature known as a kitsune. But as the legends dictate Xavier doesn't just get these tails for free; he is tasked by the nexus creature to perform various tasks that all relates to his realm in order to gain the tails that he hadn't realized until that point he desperately wanted. Not all the trials are straightforward and as he continues down the path of the nine tails he encounters another creature similar to Yavini, this one a rubber dragon named Renzyl, who further complicates things. Can Xavier get all nine tails, or will he fall short of his trials?
