Resumen del Editor

In the midst of modern chaos, do you find yourself longing for simplicity and clarity? Picture a time when our ancestors flourished, deeply intertwined with the pulse of nature. Could the antidote to today's overwhelming surge in mental malaise be found not in our medicine cabinets, but in rekindling that ancestral bond with nature? Journey through Nature's Antidepressant and uncover the transformative power of Earth's timeless embrace. Drake Wells explores the juxtaposition of our ancient roots with our present-day lives. He paints a vivid picture of our ancestors, living in sync with the environment, and contrasts it with today's reality, where comfort often trumps connection.

As modernization soars, so do rates of depression and anxiety. An alarming report by the CDC reveals a 30% surge in U.S. suicide rates since 2000. This isn't just another statistic. It's a cry for a shift in perspective, for a return to our natural roots. Wells delves deep into the therapeutic power of nature, unearthing scientific and psychological evidence of its impact on human well-being.

Nature's Antidepressant isn't merely a critique of modern society but offers a profound, holistic remedy to its ailments. Imagine a world where the solution to many emotional and psychological struggles lies not in synthetic medications, but in embracing the raw, rejuvenating power of the world around us.

Embark on a transformative journey with Drake Wells. Reconnect with the earth, with nature, with the very essence that makes us human. Discover, learn, and embrace the healing potential of nature.

Nature's Antidepressant offers not just an insight, but a pathway to peace, fulfillment, and emotional resilience in an ever-evolving world. Secure your guide to nature's healing magic and witness the change within and around you.

A Book That Makes You Want to Change Your Habits

This book has opened up a pathway for me to reconnect with myself through nature and being outside more often. Working from home, I often spend most of the day inside, but learning in this book how beneficial it is for your body and mind just to be outside while doing things like reading and working already has me working on my patio more often. I feel like I sleep better spending more time outside and am just excited reconnecting with the wonder of the universe by watching the stars. I didn't realize the health benefits of these things and the changes I've made already have me feeling more energized.

Like a long walk in nature

Drake Wells' "Nature's Antidepressant" is a soulful audio journey that reconnects us with the serenity of nature. As someone who walks in forests and along seashores daily in search of peace, I found this audiobook particularly resonant. Wells delves into the profound relationship between humans and nature, illustrating how our ancestors thrived in harmony with the environment. He contrasts this with today's disconnection and rising mental health issues. Backed by scientific and psychological insights, the audiobook presents nature as a powerful remedy for depression and anxiety. It's an inspiring call to embrace the healing power of the natural world. Recommended for those seeking tranquility and a deeper connection with nature.

Here's how you get healthy

I have begun to get more serious about taking care of my physical and mental health. And this book covers it all. I really appreciated all the research and the findings from the studies. There are so many useful tips for helping us to get out of the trappings of our artificial, unhealthy society.
Thank you very much for writing this book!
I could write so much more, but it's time for me to go outside and go for a walk in the sun.

Relevant and well written

This book makes depression relatable and valid while also providing support for empowering oneself outside of medicating symptoms. Providing empirical support for the benefits of connecting through nature, I believe this is a solid read for anyone struggling with depression. I myself was connected to how important routine is to supporting the mind-body connection and have a few pages of notes for myself across listening to the book.

Get Out Into Nature!

Depression is a bummer. What the author does so eloquently is encourage the listener to get out into nature. Nature has a powerful way of healing us and making us feel better. It's what God created and the ultimate healer is God Himself. There was a strong intimacy with nature since the beginning of time and now it's time for us to reconnect with nature. Either by foraging, hiking, or just spending time outside. We are dominated by technology and it's good for us to unlpug from that and plug into the beauty of creation as it will help with our well-being. I like how the author encourages establishing a routine to incorporate nature, moving and exercising outside, and foster a holistic approach to nature. I just spend several hours hiking through several trails at the Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island of Hawaii and immediately felt better. Do it. Get out there! Narrator did a great job, and his tone was very peaceful too. He wasn't too fast and his enunciation was on point.

Words of Wisdom from Deep Within

This book is one that so many people need to hear. We have become a society that has a fancy new pill or medicine for everything in our lives. We rely on these chemically created substances for everything from our fitness to the natural processes of our bodies and even our mental and emotional well-being.
Drake Wells's sharing of insight opens our minds to another possibility. Instead of looking for the latest and greatest fix in a future bottle, maybe it's much simpler. Just maybe looking to the past is the better solution.
In our reconnection to earth we can find a better and more natural way. The earth and the outdoors provided what man needed long before medicine existed. In fact, many modern medicines were built upon what nature already provided. Wells does an amazing job of sharing with the reader a better way of finding health and happiness and I applaud him for this amazing book!

An amazing book!

Drake Wells does an amazing job of discussing what we are lacking in today's age and it's correlation to our anxiety and depression. This book discusses how we can live a healthy life without the use of modern day medicine. He thoroughly goes over the Beauty of how our ancestors lived in previous ages and correlates it into what we are missing in our lives. However, not only does he talk about what we're missing, he does a great job of explaining how to gain the wellness needed not only to survive, but how to thrive!

And a shout out real quick to Scott Mandeville for a great narration!

Just what I needed

This book is exactly what I needed. It shows how getting back in tough with nature can really help with mental health issues. It does a great job explaining how our ancestors lived closely with nature and how we've lost that connection. The tips and scientific facts are easy to understand and actually useful. It's not just about escaping modern life, but about finding balance and healing through nature. If you're looking for a way to reduce stress and feel more connected, this book is perfect.
