Resumen del Editor

Continuing where Thus Spoke Zarathustra left off, Nietzsche's controversial work Beyond Good and Evil is one of the most influential philosophical texts of the 19th century and one of the most controversial works of ideology ever written.

Attacking the notion of morality as nothing more than institutionalised weakness, Nietzsche criticises past philosophers for their unquestioning acceptance of moral precepts. Nietzsche tried to formulate what he called "the philosophy of the future".

Alex Jennings reads this new translation by Ian Johnston.

Featured Article: All the Audiobooks in "The White Lotus"—and What Listeners Really Thought

For most, a "beach read" tends to be easy to digest. On HBO’s new hit series The White Lotus, however, that standard is questioned. Throughout the show, characters consume challenging texts from Nietzsche to Malcolm Gladwell while lounging at the luxury resort. If you are looking for an opportunity to up your game for your next beach visit, look no further than this list of books we spotted in the show—in audio, of course, to help them go down easier.

great philosophical work

Not particularly exciting or riveting but deeply thought provoking and excellent in short bursts, particularly before bed.

Jordon Peterson

I did this book & Jung's to see if I could figure if Peterson was real or a cheap copy of the past.., something needs to account for his on & on wordiness.., I find these are his crazy mentors... Worried that as Einstein said "smart folks sound like crazy folks to stupid folks.., not wishing myself stupid I explored.., stupid, nope, I think the craziness is real & copied & not new.., painfully & full heavy hearted.., tortured soul trying to be the harbor pilot on the ship of fools that is at sea & not in the harbor at all.., constantly on the lookout & seeing nonexistent markers...

A Lousy Choice for Audible

I am an IT professional and this was the suggested introduction to Nietzsche. I had no previous experience with Nietzsche.

Some books are natural choices for Audible, but this one is a stretch. Nietzsche's style is not easily consumable. Each point is nuanced and only goes down well if the listener has time to ponder on it a bit. Nietzsche's writing style is nuanced. Audible is a bad platform for its presentation.

Great book for a different perspective.

Great book, hard to follow sometimes but worth its time.
I would recommend the physical book more if you're gonna study it's content.

What A Twist!

Yes, the title is ironic, although it is how I felt. the sexism (without knowing much about the book) was pretty jarring at first, and pretty much throughout. luckily that was a good way into the book - and they do explain the time it was written and what the general attitude regarding women was. Otherwise it's filled with as much wisdom as anything opinion oriented by Descartes (not saying it's awful, just that I disagree with a good portion of things).

Difficult to listen

The narrator was really good. But I think that a lot of the concepts are hard to absorb or maybe just needs more time to understand. Not very entertaining content in my opinion.

great narration

I've listened to this twice now and there are still things I need to understand for myself. great wisdom from a great man of philosophical instinct.

If only the speech could dance as well as the word

Solid translation. Average delivery. Nietzsche might not like the fact that this title is both free and widely downloaded but...

Hey, I do.
