Resumen del Editor

The New York Times best-selling first book in Joe Abercrombie's The Age of Madness Trilogy where the age of the machine dawns, but the age of magic refuses to die.

The chimneys of industry rise over Adua, and the world seethes with new opportunities. But old scores run deep as ever.

On the blood-soaked borders of Angland, Leo dan Brock struggles to win fame on the battlefield, and defeat the marauding armies of Stour Nightfall. He hopes for help from the crown. But King Jezal's son, the feckless Prince Orso, is a man who specializes in disappointments.

Savine dan Glokta - socialite, investor, and daughter of the most feared man in the Union - plans to claw her way to the top of the slag-heap of society by any means necessary. But the slums boil over with a rage that all the money in the world cannot control.

The age of the machine dawns, but the age of magic refuses to die. With the help of the mad hillwoman Isern-i-Phail, Rikke struggles to control the blessing, or the curse, of the Long Eye. Glimpsing the future is one thing, but with the guiding hand of the First of the Magi still pulling the strings, changing it will be quite another....

Reseñas de la Crítica

"Rife with emotion with wit to spare, both honed to an effortlessly fine edge. A Little Hatred is the joy of watching a master of the craft with his tools at their sharpest." (Sam Sykes, author of Seven Blades in Black)

"Abercrombie's work is dark and gritty and filled with black humor and grim observations about human nature." (Forbes)

"A Little Hatred is Abercrombie at his very best: witty, wise, and whip-smart. Masterfully plotted.... I had high hopes for this book, and it exceed them all." (Nicholas Eames, author of Kings of the Wyld)

Old favorites are back!

What can I say. The amazing voice of Steven Pacey combined with the creative & fluid writing of Joe Abercrombie. Many old characters are back, many old voices. This seems like a great set up book for what I'm expecting to be another amazing series. The ending of this book will have you wanting book 2 asap I can promise you that!

Best Abercrombie yet...if...

If you re-read the original and read all three stand alone novels set in the same universe I think you will find this is more than just a worthy successor. In my opinion it is even better than the original, (which is one of my top 3 Fantasy series of all time) in every way... but there are a lot of events and characters that I would not have remembered let alone cared about if I hadn’t reread First Law and read the stand alones.

Great opener

Joe Abercrombie is solid, his Law series is one of my favorites. Draws you right in every time. For this new series the dawn of the industrial age coincides with the end of the era of magic. With a host of new characters and bringing back some old friends from past novels this is a great opener to what should be an interesting new chapter in Mr. Abercrombie violent, wry and action packed world.

Awesome

it's currently my favorite series. The narrator is excellent. The story moves along nicely, and I couldn't stop listening, I tried to make it last all week, but I burned though it all in 2 days since I can listen to headphones while I work.

Brutally amazing

This entire series hits real hard. If you’re looking for a happily ever after story, you won’t be getting one here. Instead, you’re given the harsh reality of what life is capable of throwing at you at any given time. This series depicts perfectly how dark and messy life in a fantasy world could be. Couldn’t recommend it more and looking forward to what’s next! Enjoy!!

Abercrombie and Pacey At Their Best

I wasn't sure the continuing saga could survive without the Bloody Nine, however, you have to be realistic. This new series brings ever more interesting and complex characters along with story lines that can stand on their own, and for everyone that read or listened to the First Law series it was even more enjoyable to hear all the references. As usual, it seems like Steven Pacey was born to narrate all these books.

Great, but feels like half a book, pacing-wise.

Despite its length, this feels like only the first half of a story arc, and the pacing of the end doesn't feel like the end of a full book, but rather a mid-point. Feels like the first half or two thirds of a book. That said, it's generally great, and the same great world as always, from Abercrombie.
