Hugo Award Winner: Best Novel
This year’s Hugo Award for Best Novel went to The Three Body Problem by Cixin Liu. Previously an award-winning phenomenon in China, the book became available in English (translated by Ken Liu) for the first time in November 2014. Cixin Liu is the first Chinese author to win the award. Among the other authors recognized was Wesley Chu (Time Salvager, The Lives of Tao), who won the John W. Campbell Best New Writer Award. This year's event came with a fair amount of controversy – with no winner declared in five categories.
