OKI really enjoyed this listen. I especially like the English accent for the books that are set in the days of the Old English gentry. This was a good story. Lots of plot, not just romance.
I enjoyed this book. The narrator did well also. I like narrators that read in such a way you scarcely think of them.
Why this wonderful title by Karen Witemeyer only received one star is beyond me.
I bought it because of the author and the reviews from Amazon. Also I sought out her web page.
This is a peach of a story with lots of interesting happenings. Disappointments along with surprises for a young miss who thought she was to become the wife of a book peddler, only to discover to her mortification, he had different plans.
But now great excitement is ahead, not to mention true and lasting love.
Set in the Early American West... Texas of course.
An aristocrat wealthy Englishman comes to Texas to set up a sheep ranch.
One little girl who has not spoken a word since the death of her mother. (This is where our heroine comes in)
A villainous uncle and a bit of skullduggery along with a bit of mystery, make this book a great read
If you are a Christian you will love it. If not, well... I think you will find the story lovely. Pure true love and a wonderful experience for the listener
The only thing lacking is graphic sexual scenes. Ahhh What a blessing to behold.
