    Story

Jon hit the nail on the head with this book. It covers everything you need to know to be confident that you know how to use mindfulness meditation in just a few short hours. If you are someone who has bought various books on meditation but are still confused, or are just a plain beginner, this is the audiobook for you.

Guided Meditations included in the book:
    (1) 15 minute guided bell meditation at 1:00:57,
    (2) 30 minute body scan meditation at 2:38:27, and
    (3) 45 minute sitting meditation starting at 5:33:18.

(Side note: Chapters 10 and 11 are repeated. This was a small mistake, but in no way does it detract from my appreciation for this book.)

This is Jon Kabat-Zinn's most comprehensive audio program on mindfulness. It combines gentle guidance with conversational narratives weaving together science, poetry, and the art of living - all in the sevice of deepening your appriciation of the "workability" of the present moment, no matter how hard or challenging your circumstances. This moment, when held in awareness with gentleness and self-compassion, has the potential for catalyzing, healing, and transforming your life. Mindfulness meditation is both a disipline and an adventure.

I'm a big fan of non-fiction and science related books as it gives me insight into things about the world that I would otherwise be clueless about.

  • "A Taste of the Mastermind behind Mi..."

I have read many books by J.R.R. Tolkien and enjoyed them all. I did not hesitate to grab this short audiobook simply because I was interested to hear him read some of his work in his own voice. It is nothing mind-blowing or amazing but I enjoyed just hearing him speak and sing about the world he created.

"I have a dream today." On August 28, 1963, Martin Luther King spoke these words as he addressed a crowd of more than 200,000 civil rights protesters gathered at The Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC. Two months earlier, President John Kennedy had sent a civil rights bill to Congress, but it was struck down. Although Kennedy was concerned about the possibility of widespread violence during this protest, he realized he was powerless to stop it and embraced the movement instead.
