Why do people find it so hard to change? The secret is that everyone has their own formula for making changes that stick, but most people don't know what theirs is. They think there is one way to lose five pounds, and another way to stay on top of their e-mail, but they don't realize that for all changes, there is one system that works best for each individual.

Excellent book that goes into listening as well as questioning and leading conversations. He goes beyond the standard mirroring and focusing on others that most books on listening suggest. It also included some powerful suggestions on sales lines. On the downside there were parts I would skip for they were a little presumptuous and other parts that I do not agree with. However, there were enough great parts to recommend this book.

One of the best books I have read on change. Their theory is that willpower for change is overrated. Then they go through a systematic way to approach change which is very uplifting. The power of this book comes from the way they made this theory so easy to understand and apply. Love that the second half of the book is detailed examples. I have found all Kerry Patterson???s books to be excellent.

A stunning new approach to how individuals can not only change their lives for the better in the workplace, but also their lives away from the office, including (but not limited to) finding ways to improve one's working relationship with others, one's overall health, outlook on life, and so on. For example, why is it that 95% of all diet attempts fail? Why do New Year's Resolutions last no more than a few days? Why can't people with good intentions seem to make consistent and positive strides in the way they want to improve their careers, financial fitness, physical fitness, and so on?

  • Practicing the Power of Now: Teachings, Meditations, and Exercises from the Power of Now

    "Stillness and inner peace!!!"

    Overall
    Performance
    Story

This book is transforming, was on my second round with Power of Now, but this book puts it in a condensed sections of where it breaks it down to meaningful sessions that are provoking. The exercises he has you do help you to be still and reach inside to your inner body and helps you to let go of the thinking pattern going on. each session I am able to reach more of more of awakening! I find myself going hours of the Non thinking mind if I am not working. It is very refreshing and brings peace and calm in your every day life. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to be free from negative and bad behaviors, such as depression, anxiety, moodiness, all sorts of illnesses. I was in a state of deep depression when I started my journey and now I no longer identify myself by my past or from what others think of me, that is none of my business! Its great to have that freedom! it has even made changes to our lovely cat Buddy. he is much calmer and more affectionate around me.

  • The Eckhart Tolle Audio Collection

    "Good information"

    Overall

    Story
Where does The Eckhart Tolle Audio Collection rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It is similar to most of his teachings but as with most of his teachings, he has the same basic teachings, he is not trying to add anything to the listener. The purpose of his teachings is to point to the truth. Once you recognize the truth, no matter which book of his you listen to. There have been a couple of his teachings that brought me to awakening. This was my first Eckhart Tolle audio. I had to listen to several others such as the Power of now, but it took listening to practicing the power of now for me to "get it"

If you’ve listened to books by Eckhart Tolle before, how does this one compare?

It is similar to all of his teachings. I recommend practicing the power of now as it gives most of his message as well as some meditations included.

  • The Secrets of the Power of Intention

    "Must hear!"

    Overall

    Story
If you could sum up The Secrets of the Power of Intention in three words, what would they be?

    change your thinking

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Secrets of the Power of Intention?

the simplicity in which Dr Dyer explains how the faces of intention determine how we live our lives, if you intend to get pain, suffering, little money, you are right, you will get that. If you intend on feeling good, access abundance, (expecting it to be there, not looking for it), you will live a life free of burdensome thinking. endless searching for the moment you cannot find, it is now. you already have it!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes because I read the Power of Intention and this is just a hearing of the different way he brings it across, it is 7 hours so not in one sitting but I get his point in the first sitting.

    Any additional comments?

This is a must read, I first read Excuses Begone, this is my first recommendation of his teachings. I was in Deep Depression and had struggled with it for most of my life. This time it was so bad, I only got out of bed to work part time from home, eat, essentials. I started reading Excuses begone and realized I was holding on to old negative thinking patterns that basically got me to this point. Once I let go of them, they were GONE! I felt instant peace and never go back to the pain of the past anymore. If you are struggling with yourself, constant thinking, worrying. Get his books! especially Excuses Begone and Power of Intention. The two books changed the way I live my life now. More satisfying! Best Quote of Dr Dyers

  • The Power of Your Subconscious Mind

If you could sum up The Power of Your Subconscious Mind in three words, what would they be?

I have listened to this audible and will listen to it again and again as I am sure I will find tid bits I missed. The information in this book is life changing!

What other book might you compare The Power of Your Subconscious Mind to and why?

Excuses Be Gone because in that book Wayne Dyer explains how your thoughts create who and what you are.

I liked it. This book gives a glimpse into the French way of parenting. It turns out there is a lot to admire and emulate. The author did a good job of high-lighting the things that drive me crazy about what a lot of Americans moms tend to do (I'm guilty!), but in a light way. I don't see this book's premise as a another reason to feel bad as parents, though. I look at it as food for thought. Speaking of food, I've been introducing more variety w/ my kids (based on the French way),...voila! it worked!

The secret behind France's astonishingly well-behaved children is here. When American journalist Pamela Druckerman has a baby in Paris, she doesn't aspire to become a "French parent". French parenting isn't a known thing, like French fashion or French cheese. Even French parents themselves insist they aren't doing anything special. But French children are far better behaved and more in command of themselves than American kids....

In researching the field of education over three decades, Ron examined the entire learning process. What Ron identified are the exact obstacles that deny understanding of any subject, or more specifically, the barriers to study. With the new knowledge of how these barriers are the cause of failed education and its many consequences, Ron developed a fully workable solution - what has become known as Study Technology. Here, then, is the first actual technology of how to study any subject or field of endeavor and gain the ability to use and apply what has been learned.

In this classic statement on the individual’s search for truth, Ron therefore delineates the central principles that make Scientology different - the principles whereby each person engages in his own personal search to discover truth. As individuals continue on this unique quest of exploration and adventure, they acquire new insights and understandings until their fundamental questions about themselves and life are resolved to their full satisfaction. And increasingly, as they travel that road, they attain the lasting freedom that can only come from knowing what is true for them.

In this lecture, Ron reveals that life is an energy, one entirely separate and distinct from the physical universe. Moreover, here too are the answers to how life attempts its conquest of matter, energy, space, and time. As for what these discoveries mean to everyday life of the individual, the answer is everything. For no matter one’s occupation or activities, here are both the anatomy and ramifications of the unavoidable interaction with the physical universe. And by means of this knowledge, one can reverse one’s losses, build upon one’s victories, and, in sum, recover the energy and enthusiasm that brings lasting success.

What is life? Life is a game. In this lecture, Ron explains why life is best understood by likening it to a game. For regardless of what, where, or how an individual plays the games of existence - and regardless of whether he consented to play - the rules of the game are always the same. And with everything Ron puts on the board, he provides a completely new understanding of all that comprises human behavior. Here, then, is not only the knowledge to play and win at a game of one’s own choosing, but how to help others play a better game too.
