  • "A SHOT OF ENDORPHINS FOR THE BRAIN"

    Overall
    Performance
    Story

When I need any kind of a lift, I listen to these remarkable meditations and the commonsense explanations of why this brain science is so important. I put them on when I go to sleep at night and wake up with a smile. I could have saved myself years of therapy if I had had access to this wonderful knowledge. I think this is a true work of love and one of the most useful approaches to the bleak inner and outer landscapes we live.

I use parts of this cd to help with fibro pain and ptsd. He has one of the best explanations of fibro and a good meditation to start breaking up the knot of emotions that keep us in pain. His segment on Stigmata and Fibro is very helpful and the meditation goes right to the heart of problems. I wish there were separate tracks for the actual meditations, however, as I can never find them when I am looking. I suppose bookmarking helps.I would like to have easier ways to find the experiential stuff, as I dont need to keep hearing the explanations.Sometimes his voice grates on me and i dont agree with all he says, but its well worth a try at the meditations if you are dealing with chronic pain.

Unless you answer this question, teaches Dr. Mario Martinez, you may be missing a key component on the journey to health and personal excellence. On The Mind-Body Code, the founder of Biocognitive Theory presents his first audio curriculum about the dynamic interplay between our thoughts, our bodies and our cultural history-and how to unlock this powerful doorway to wellness and fulfillment.

I have been using Tara Brach's work, along with several others, to untangle the mystery of PTSD, fibromyalgia and unexplained debilitating pain. This, along with Radical Self-Acceptance, which sometimes overlaps with this, are the keystones of my healing. I have noticed considerable decrease in pain when used in conjunction with a chakra/gong meditation I found here. I have not experienced anything that had to power to break through cognitive defenses and so lovingly get to the heart of matters as Tara Brach's cds combined with other forms of meditation. You just have to keep practising and being aware of subtle changes in your body, and pain starts moving.

  • Practicing the Power of Now: Teachings, Meditations, and Exercises from the Power of Now

    "Stillness and inner peace!!!"

    Overall
    Performance
    Story

This book is transforming, was on my second round with Power of Now, but this book puts it in a condensed sections of where it breaks it down to meaningful sessions that are provoking. The exercises he has you do help you to be still and reach inside to your inner body and helps you to let go of the thinking pattern going on. each session I am able to reach more of more of awakening! I find myself going hours of the Non thinking mind if I am not working. It is very refreshing and brings peace and calm in your every day life. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to be free from negative and bad behaviors, such as depression, anxiety, moodiness, all sorts of illnesses. I was in a state of deep depression when I started my journey and now I no longer identify myself by my past or from what others think of me, that is none of my business! Its great to have that freedom! it has even made changes to our lovely cat Buddy. he is much calmer and more affectionate around me.

  • The Eckhart Tolle Audio Collection

    "Good information"

    Overall
    Performance
    Story
Where does The Eckhart Tolle Audio Collection rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It is similar to most of his teachings but as with most of his teachings, he has the same basic teachings, he is not trying to add anything to the listener. The purpose of his teachings is to point to the truth. Once you recognize the truth, no matter which book of his you listen to. There have been a couple of his teachings that brought me to awakening. This was my first Eckhart Tolle audio. I had to listen to several others such as the Power of now, but it took listening to practicing the power of now for me to "get it"

If you’ve listened to books by Eckhart Tolle before, how does this one compare?

It is similar to all of his teachings. I recommend practicing the power of now as it gives most of his message as well as some meditations included.

  • The Secrets of the Power of Intention

    "Must hear!"

    Overall

    Story
If you could sum up The Secrets of the Power of Intention in three words, what would they be?

    change your thinking

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Secrets of the Power of Intention?

the simplicity in which Dr Dyer explains how the faces of intention determine how we live our lives, if you intend to get pain, suffering, little money, you are right, you will get that. If you intend on feeling good, access abundance, (expecting it to be there, not looking for it), you will live a life free of burdensome thinking. endless searching for the moment you cannot find, it is now. you already have it!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes because I read the Power of Intention and this is just a hearing of the different way he brings it across, it is 7 hours so not in one sitting but I get his point in the first sitting.

    Any additional comments?

This is a must read, I first read Excuses Begone, this is my first recommendation of his teachings. I was in Deep Depression and had struggled with it for most of my life. This time it was so bad, I only got out of bed to work part time from home, eat, essentials. I started reading Excuses begone and realized I was holding on to old negative thinking patterns that basically got me to this point. Once I let go of them, they were GONE! I felt instant peace and never go back to the pain of the past anymore. If you are struggling with yourself, constant thinking, worrying. Get his books! especially Excuses Begone and Power of Intention. The two books changed the way I live my life now. More satisfying! Best Quote of Dr Dyers

  • The Power of Your Subconscious Mind

If you could sum up The Power of Your Subconscious Mind in three words, what would they be?

I have listened to this audible and will listen to it again and again as I am sure I will find tid bits I missed. The information in this book is life changing!

What other book might you compare The Power of Your Subconscious Mind to and why?

Excuses Be Gone because in that book Wayne Dyer explains how your thoughts create who and what you are.

I liked it. This book gives a glimpse into the French way of parenting. It turns out there is a lot to admire and emulate. The author did a good job of high-lighting the things that drive me crazy about what a lot of Americans moms tend to do (I'm guilty!), but in a light way. I don't see this book's premise as a another reason to feel bad as parents, though. I look at it as food for thought. Speaking of food, I've been introducing more variety w/ my kids (based on the French way),...voila! it worked!

The secret behind France's astonishingly well-behaved children is here. When American journalist Pamela Druckerman has a baby in Paris, she doesn't aspire to become a "French parent". French parenting isn't a known thing, like French fashion or French cheese. Even French parents themselves insist they aren't doing anything special. But French children are far better behaved and more in command of themselves than American kids....

Much of the conventional wisdom the last generation has passed on just doesn't apply like it once did. Think and Grow Rich is the number-one inspirational and motivational classic for individuals who are interested in furthering their lives and reaching their goals by learning from important figures in history. The text read in this audiobook is the original 1937 edition written by Napoleon Hill and inspired by Andrew Carnegie - and while it has often been reproduced, no updated version has ever been able to compete with the original.

    Dave says: "It's a must."

Each day we face a barrage of images and messages from society and the media telling us who, what, and how we should be. We are led to believe that if we could only look perfect and lead perfect lives, we'd no longer feel inadequate. So most of us perform, please, and perfect, all the while thinking, What if I can't keep all of these balls in the air? Why isn't everyone else working harder and living up to my expectations? What will people think if I fail or give up? When can I stop proving myself?

In Ungifted, cognitive psychologist Scott Barry Kaufman - who was relegated to special education as a child - sets out to show that the way we interpret traditional metrics of intelligence is misguided. Kaufman explores the latest research in genetics and neuroscience, as well as evolutionary, developmental, social, positive, and cognitive psychology, to challenge the conventional wisdom about the childhood predictors of adult success. He reveals that there are many paths to greatness, and argues for a more holistic approach to achievement that takes into account each young person’s personal goals, individual psychology, and developmental trajectory.
