OKI love books! Audiobooks take stories to the next level. I'm obsessed with Audible and will try to rate all of my books. Happy Listening! ;)
As soon as I read the blurb stating that the hero was blind I knew I had to get this book. It was different to any other contemporary romance book I've ever read or listened to. It's a sweet romantic story that was so well written. Both the hero and the heroine had gone through trauma and sadness and it includes enough details to make it bearable.
I loved loved loved this book so much!!! I spent seven hours of my day listening to the story from beginning to end. I just could not put it down. The way the romance slowly develops is amazing. The best first kiss scene by far. EVER! I just loved Cole! I don't want to give spoilers because every little surprise this story has is worth discovering on your own. I'm just amazed that this is the first and only book by Darcy Daniel. I sure hope she writes many many more.
Narration: Eva Kaminsky did a wonderful job with this story. It was set in Australia and I could tell that the accent was different. Each character had a different voice and she added the extra sweetness and intensity that a story about a first powerful love deserves. It's definitely worth a credit or even full price!!
This is the perfect example of how vital a good narrator is to an audiobook. This was an amazing experience!! Bianca Amato took me on an emotional journey through the life of Violet. I truly felt the nerves and paranoia of Violet on her wedding date. Her constant worry of being discovered. The all consuming love and passion she felt for Adrian. The devastation and heartbreak when he found out about the lies. I was Violet every minute of this story, that's how good this narrator is. So good in fact that I will skip the next book because I don't think there's salvation for the evil selfish wench of Jeanette and I don't really care if she gets a happily ever after. I will immediate start listening to the story about Kit and Eliza (The Husband Trap) that sounds very promising.
Yes the story is implausible. Twins that switch identities because the one that is getting married doesn't want to and the other one happens to be secretly in love with the groom from the moment she laid eyes on him. But the narration is so good that it takes you through a vivid emotional journey and turns a good story into an unforgettable experience. Absolutely worth a credit!!
I listened to the Fifty Shades trilogy twice back to back. And I loved every second of it. Then I went into an emotional detox and started listening to paranormal romances for a few weeks. Just when I was starting to miss fifty a little, Bared to you came out promising to be a substitute for FSoG. It was not... But I must clarify that I really liked both books. Enough about fifty.
Bared to You is the story of Eva and Gideon, two very beautiful, filthy rich people that fall madly in love. The thing is they are kind of crazy, and not the fun kinda crazy, but the you'll-Need-therapy-the-rest-of-your-life kind of crazy. They have both been victims of sexual abuse when kids and they don't really know how to have a normal happy healthy relationship. The interesting thing is that their sexual abuse made them a little cookoo but did not affect their libido of sexual performance. At. All. Hot chemistry!
Bring in secondary stories about the bi-sexual, also insane but ridiculously gorgeous roommate that Eva has (Cary). Eva's controlling mother and Gideon's very misterious family and you have a story that is very interesting, unpredictable and did I mention HOT!
If you loved fifty and are looking for another version of the story, please note that this is different, more psychological and intense. No BDSM at all.
Now to the merits as an audiobook: this is fifty shades better. Jill Redfield did an amazing job with all the voices. The emotions she brought to the narration were just flawless. Distinct voices for each characters and exellent tones for the love scenes. I was very surprised to see that this is the only audiobook available that she has narrated. I definitely look forward to more books narrated by her.
Can't wait for the next book: Reflected in You...
