"To use her phrase, this book is 'a hoot and a holler' - a fast-paced frolic that her fans will appreciate. ( Publishers Weekly)

Not the same Kristin seen on Talk Shows

Purchased this for two reasons;
1. Recommendation from TWIT guest
2. I love her voice and character in the TV series "West Wing"
Kristin's voice and dry sense of humor makes this book most enjoyable. Humor at ever turn and little tag lines throughout the book coupled with a behind the scenes look at what it really takes to make it on Broadway.

such a delightful personality

Bought on Audible
Actual Rating 4.5 Wine Glasses

What I Loved: Kristin Chenoweth is just such a delightful personality. She has great stories from her life both professionally and personally. I don't feel like she held anything back! She does it with such poise, humor, and a little wink/nudge to her friends. This was like getting a glimpse into what I think is one of the most down-to-earth celebrities there is today. It might be her southern roots but you just feel like she is someone you could sit down, have dinner, and chat about day to day stuff.

What I Liked: Her friends, family, and moments that just made me giggle hysterically! I love that she tackled everything faith, failed relationships, the theater, her friends, and hair mishaps.

Audio Specific Review: Kristen read, sang, and giggled her way through reading this! It was fantastic and the way I would suggest getting this book.

Why I gave it a 4.5: It was 7 hours of just plain fun!

Who would I recommend it too: Kristin Chenoweth fans

Sweet book for a sweet girl

I'm seeing Kristin perform in March and wanted to know more of her personal back history. I'm glad I did, she's lived a touched life and seems to freely express her gratitude for that.

Clearly ghostwritten; definitely has an agenda

Any additional comments?

I found myself liking Kristin Chenoweth less and less as the book went on; she seemed to be writing to defend herself and promote "her side" of every story. I guess that is the point of a memoir, but it was a little grating. Also, the narrator mispronounced several common words, which made it seem like she hadn't even read the book before sitting down to record. Overall, I am disappointed that I spent a credit on this book.

Kind of delightful!

This got off to a rough start for me, since the first chapter mainly consisted of her complaining about air travel (not interesting) and talking about her big Southern family and how close they all are (I also have a big Southern family and I do not like it one bit, so I just could not connect). But once she started talking about her career, I was hooked. There were a few other chapters that felt a little weak, but for the most part, this was funny and very entertaining, and I looked forward to getting in the car everyday before and after work to listen to it, and am a little sad that it's over. This is my second celebrity autobiography in the last couple months, and I have surprisingly reeeeeally been enjoying them. Who knew? On to Julie Andrews!

Great performance

I really enjoyed this book and didn't want it to end. Kristen is such a great narrator and I felt like she was a friend chatting with me. Only problem is I wanted more. I hope she does a continuation.

Highly enjoyable

Her delivery was delightful, filled with the giggles and light sarcasm you’d expect, mixed with quieter, more introspective/vulnerable moments.

I appreciated this glimpse into what made her who she was as of the publication of this book and sure hope I’m still around for the tell-all tome someday! 😁

A Little Bit Shallow

I love her singing, but she spends way more time talking about things like her hair extensions than her experiences on the stage. I still think she's great, but I hope she eventually writes something more substantial. It's amazing that she needed a ghost writer to write something this light weight. C'mon Kristy, you can do better. And the title was ridiculous. She's about as un-wicked as they come, so it makes no sense, even with her experience in the show, "Wicked." Pandering.

Absolutely Enjoyed This Book!!!

Where does A Little Bit Wicked rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It is one of my top favorite books. I loved living vicariously through her as she shares her ups and downs in her life and career. I really didn't know very much about her and appreciated the honest way she told her story. It was hilarious and beautiful.

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Little Bit Wicked?

The funny names she gives everything and the fabulous way she reads her own book. I was so happy to hear that she was the performer.

What about the narrator’s performance did you like?

She is a great performer and has her own unique way of delivering a great story. I didn't want it to end and was shocked when it did. That got us up to 2008...On to the next book?

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When she was taking about the passing of her grandfather or nursing her mother in her time of need. What a great daughter and granddaughter.

Any additional comments?

I highly recommend this book and especially the audio version. I absolutely loved every minute of it.

Somewhat disappointing

I love Kristin Chenoweth and was really excited to hear in her own words about her experiences on Broadway and in movies and television. She is not an engaging narrator. That was a major surprise. And her memoir comes across as surprisingly boring.
