Publisher's Summary

For Bella Swan, there is one thing more important than life itself: Edward Cullen. But being in love with a vampire is even more dangerous than Bella ever could have imagined. Edward has already rescued Bella from the clutches of one evil vampire, but now, as their daring relationship threatens all that is near and dear to them, they realize their troubles may be just beginning.

Legions of readers entranced by the New York Times best-seller Twilight are hungry for the continuing story of star-crossed lovers Bella and Edward. In New Moon, Stephenie Meyer delivers another irresistible combination of romance and suspense with a supernatural spin. Passionate, riveting, and full of surprising twists and turns, this vampire love saga is well on its way to literary immortality.

Don't miss the other titles in the Twilight Saga.

What the Critics Say

"New Moon will more than feed the bloodthirsty hankerings of fans of the first volume and leave them breathless for the third." (School Library Journal)
"Bella's dismay at being ordinary (after all, she's only human) will strike a chord even among girls who have no desire to be immortal, and like the vampires who watch Bella bleed with 'fevered eyes', teens will relish this new adventure and hunger for more." (Booklist)

From AudioFile

Readers will thrill to Ilyana Kadushin's elegant narration of NEW MOON, sequel to TWILIGHT. Her performance captures the emotional upheaval of mortal Bella's desperate love for vampire Edward and the obstacles to their perilous reunion. Like Romeo and Juliet, Edward and Bella suffer from their own folly, as well as the disapproval of their families. Kadushin's silvery, feminine voice delivers the unfolding events with precise, consistent timing, showcasing Meyer's story without overwhelming it. While the male characters could be slightly more distinct, the dialogue is clear as are Bella's numerous internal monologues. Kadushin ably succeeds at creating an addictive listen from Meyer's tumultuous story of star-crossed lovers. The combination will not disappoint. (c) AudioFile 2007

The books series, or rather audiobook, is fantastic!!! A million times more insightful and deep than either of the Twilight moveis out there. I also loved the narrator's voice. She made it so I couldn't put the audiobook "down". The movies I found boring but the audiobook series blew me away.

A good story but predictable in some ways. The foundation this book leaves is critical in the follow on books. A nice job of character growth and adjustments. The ending was great even though some of the minor items were left open.

I got New Moon because I liked the book and movie Twilight. The book and movie New Moon were both horrid. The main character, Bella, comes across as weak and stupid. When she's not passing out and requiring someone to carry her, she's doing stupid things so she can hear the voice of the boyfriend who's name (when spoken) makes her faint?

Too stupid to be read.
