The plot was only okay. Not even close to the quality level of an episode. I was disappointed with John Barrowman's reading of the book. He never changed his voice or his accent for the different characters. He wasn't even good as Captain Jack, his own character.

I know I shouldn't expect too much from a serial novel based on a TV show, but honestly... by the third time a character "fumbled" something in or out of a pocket (despite being not the least bit nervous), the AP English-level writing had really begun to detract from my enjoyment of what could have been a fine Torchwood episode if produced for television. However, if bland, unimaginative prose (e.g. "Ianto picked up the coffee pot, poured a cup, and handed it to Gwen. She set it on the desk.") doesn't get under your skin, then by all means give this book a go.

Torchwood: Another Life, An original dramatization based on the hit BBC spin-off of the Doctor Who series is both delightful and gripping. A top notch science fiction / mystery story, worthy to be included in your collection. Very enjoyable story with quality sound, narrated by John Barrowman who plays Capt. Jack Harkness on the television show. I enjoy the TV series and this original tale continues the adventures of the Torchwood team as it protects earth from aliens and creatures from time and space. If you like Doctor Who and Men in Black, you will love this audio book.

If you like any of the Dr. Who or Kolchak or Outer Limits then this is a good show and a really good listen. The other 2 books are great listens as well.
