I loved it till the end! Even the end was ok but the three story lines never came together.

...it might be worth your credit. I spent a lot of time thinking "this is an awesome idea" but the implementation is lacking. Specifically (and possibly spoiler-ish) I got the impression that if I were writing the same story, I wouldn't have represented the Internet in such a linear, geometric, symbolic way -- lines and boxes. Albeit I don't know what he's got planned for the next books, I think Sawyer could have added a whole other level of abstraction (engaging the creative imaginative parts of the mind, for example) to the way the protagonists interpreted things -- visually -- and it would have added something, otherwise ineffable, to the story.

This book engaged me in ways I have never been engaged in any science fiction type book. Part of this is that I, as a blind person, related on a deep level to Caitlin, the main character. That said, beyond the plot, which managed to be interessting, humorous and awe-inspiring, I found that the narrators did a superb job. I have never enjoyed multiple narrator audiobooks that I can recall, but this book and the lovely narrators were wonderful! I highly recommend the book and can't wait to see the next book!A

Despite the fact the novel is about an AI developing on the web, it is a very human story. Kate's journey was (will continue to be I hope) fascinating, and her character was endearing. I loved it.

I have to say that Robert J. Sawyer is my favorite author ever since I have found his very first book "Calculating God" on audible. This book is the best I have had the pleasure to listen to by far. The technical aspect of it can be a bit overwhelming but the complex charachters and the story is amazing. I can not wait for the next one!
