Publisher's Summary

FBI agent Alex Cross is on vacation with his family at Disneyland when he gets a call from the Director. A well-known actress was shot outside her home in Beverly Hills. Shortly afterward, an editor for the Los Angeles Times receives an e-mail describing the murder in vivid detail. Alex quickly learns that this is not an isolated incident. The killer, known as Mary Smith, has done this before and plans to kill again. Right from the beginning, this case is like nothing Alex has ever confronted. Is this the plan of an obsessed fan or a spurned actor, or is it part of something much more frightening? And particularly baffling, how could a woman be capable of these vicious crimes? Members of Hollywood's A-list fear they're next on Mary's list, and the case grows by blockbuster proportions as the LAPD and FBI scramble to find a pattern before Mary can send one more chilling update. Filled with the ruthless and shocking twists that make his fans hunger for more, Mary, Mary is James Patterson's most sophisticated thriller yet.

I was disappointed with this one. It was heavy on the production side - lots of dramatic background music and three narrators, but the story was weak and completely predictable. After listening to thrillers like "The Girl Who Played With Fire" and "Child 44", I expect interesting and complex story lines and this one just fell short of my expectations.

I truly enjoyed listening to this book!! I think of all the Alex Cross series that I have either read or listened to so far this one is by far my favorite!! The readers read with both passion and clarity! It made the listening totally enjoyable and I felt like I could "picture" what I was listening to. I highly recommend this one!

James Patterson is one of my favorite authors and he certainly did not disappoint me with Mary Mary. He keeps the reader guessing because the reader has some information first hand from the killer and is also privy to the thinking process of Alex Cross. Entertaining listening, especially on a medium car trip.

I confess, I am addicted to the Alex Cross series. Actually any James Patterson book is worth a listen This one is not as scary as London Bridges but it still had great turns and twists. I enjoyed learning more about the Cross family. One of the things I think is intriguing is a lot of the things that happened in this book could happen in the real world. Of course, the loose ends would not wrap up so nicelybut hey this is fiction after all. Worth your time.
