Publisher's Summary

What if all your wishes could come true? Blink your eyes, drink a fizzing pink potion, and poof! Life is perfect. That's Rachel's situation. Except she's not the one who suddenly has magical powers. Her younger sister is. And as Rachel would tell you, spellbooks are wasted on the young!

Yes, yes, of course world peace and cures for horrible diseases are important. But so is dancing without looking like she's being electrocuted, winning back her best friend, stopping her dad's wedding, and finding a date for Spring Fling.

Rachel's not bewitched. Yet.

What the Critics Say

"This isn't just another breezy teen read. Mlynowski has a real ear for dialogue, and she displays a keen understanding of teen mores as she pokes fun at high-school cliques....Rachel is sassy, self-absorbed, shy, and insecure, and her concerns will be comfortably familiar to readers." (Booklist)

I loved listening to Rachel and her view of the world. I listened out of order (Whoops!) but still loved the stories. If you listen out of order then you miss some of the leading events. Bras and Broomsticks is book 1. Ariadne Meyers did a FABULOUS job with narration. Sarah Mlynowski is just a fun writer. I didn't worry one bit about a strange sequence of words (foul) while listening in my office. And the people who did over hear the story line were just as drawn in as I was. Ever been asked if someone could borrow your Audible download? HA! Very fun story.

This was a great book. My daughter, a very typical 14 year old who wants to spend time with her parents as long there is absolutely nothing else to do(and no one will find out), and I listened to this book together while traveling in the car. It was a great coming of age story.

It touches on many of the items that teenage girls go through, popularity, changing of friends, clothes, friendship, boys and parents.

My daughter loved this, because it was told from the teens eyes, not her parents.

I picked up this book not realizing that it was a "young adult" title. After I managed to put away my original skepticism, I truly enjoyed this read. The narrator can be a bit annoying at times and the story is somewhat predictible but it was light hearted and whimsical. I enjoyed the story over all but probably will not be using a credit to purchase the upcoming sequel.
