"A relentlessly suspenseful, soul-chilling thriller that hooks you instantly." (Tess Gerritsen)

From AudioFile

A meticulous and highly intelligent madman is gruesomely killing Catholic teenaged girls, breaking their necks, bolting their hands together in prayer, and mutilating them sexually. Veteran Philadelphia Detective Kevin Byrne and his new partner, Jessica Balzano, who quickly realizes she and her daughter are on the murderer's list, investigate every lead. Scott Brick's narration captures all the tension in this fiercely gripping thriller. He is equally at ease with voices of both genders and uses pacing and distinctive vocal characterizations to maintain suspense. Brick's voice is clear and precise, making his performance spellbinding. (c) AudioFile 2005

I can't say that I have any complaints about this book.I liked how the narrator was able to do different dialects. It gave the book reading more depth. I'm definitely getting The Skin Gods next.

I purchased this book on a whim but really enjoyed it. A combination of the storyline, narration and character development made this an enjoyable listen. An added bonus for me was the location, having grown up in Philadelphia the constant reference to my old stomping grounds allowed me to visualize most every setting. I look forward to the next book in the series.

I live in the Philly area and enjoyed the book very much. It made me laugh out loud one second and had me weeping the next. Scott Brick, as always, did a great job. I can not beleave some of the bad reviews I have read, I enjoyed very much.

This book seems to me to be a writer pretending that he is an author. Did all of his friends write reviews? It is an overly inflated plot with sinister dum-de-dum-dees. I generally like Scott Brick, but even he couldn't entertain me with his pious reading of evil intentions. The police, newspaper guys, lab people are all seedy and less than admirable. Not good at all! Everyone has different tastes, but what are they thinking in giving so many stars?
