Publisher's Summary

The Angel Experiment was just a test drive. Now, brace yourself for the maximum ride! James Patterson shifts high action into overdrive in this eagerly awaited follow-up to his #1 New York Times best seller.

Brave bird-kid Max and her flock fly south on a perilous quest to find their parents, after having rescued Angel and recovered secret documents about their origins. But just when they think they've finally escaped the hungry claws of evil Erasers, they're discovered by an FBI agent and forced to face perhaps an even worse nightmare: going to school. There's no such thing as an ordinary day when Max's "homework" includes decoding documents, deciphering when (and how) she's supposed to save the world, and learning to face what may be her greatest enemy: herself. A clone. Max II.

From AudioFile

In the second installment in the Maximum Ride series, Max and her flock of genetically altered children are moving closer to understanding the reason for their existence--or at least for the modifications that have been made to them. Valentina de Angelis sets off at a strong pace in a narration that betrays a fondness for her characters in a tone pitched for kids. The periodic musical background is a bit of a distraction, however. It varies in length and at times appears to be a signal that a chapter is ending, at other times an indication of abridgment, and at still other times simply background. The longer passages add a sense of sentimentality that seems unwarranted. (c) AudioFile 2006

Once again James Patterson brings us into the world of Max and friends. Even though this is an Audible Kids selection I find it to be a most refreshing and wondrous book. I can almost feel the wind in my wings as the I become part of the group and help them defeat the evil. I think, no matter your age, every woman/girl wants to be Max. I encourage James Patterson to bring us more takes of Max and family.

This is the sequel to "Maximum Ride: The Angle Experiment". The original introduced the flock and the main character Maximum Ride. This book continues their adventures.

They get to finally experience some level of normalcy as the FBI takes them into protective custody. However, as you would expect, the "white coats" arrive to spoil everything.

The plot takes some interesting twists as parents are found, erasers come and go, and an evil twin rears her head. A great sequel even if it is abridged.

The Lake House had promise, this is written for grade school children, the plot is vague and never followed its not a book but a chapter in some weird thought process, or a miniseries. Not at all like James Patterson its like his grand child wrote this. Definitely this will be my last Maximum Ride book.

Does a good job of catching you up if you did not read the previous book but leaves you hanging in the end. Very obviously leaves opening for another book.
