Publisher's Summary

The Peverell Press, a Thameside publishing house, is ripe for change. The Chairman has just died, and his French partner retired, leaving the latter's ruthless son, Gerard Etienne, as Chairman and Managing Director. Etienne has made many enemies including his discarded mistress and a rejected author; and he has even threatened members of the Peverell staff.
