It’s the Britishness of it all
I found the pleasure in Sayer’s story to be the wry, detailed view she provides of Britain’s disappearing class system in post-WW I England. And, altho Sayers pokes a little fun at Conan Doyle’s style, her own story here commits the error of Full-on Giant Confession at the end. But, never mind, a fun listen by a talented writer.

I’ve read all of Dorothy L. Sayers’ Lord Peter Wimsey books and listened to a few. This new version by Mark Meadows is first rate. I really hope he does more of the Wimsey books.

Superb Narration!!
I love the Lord Peter Whimsy books narrated by Ian Carmichael, so much so that I didn’t think anyone else would do the books justice. However, Mark Meadow’s narration is beyond excellent and makes the book a very entertaining listen!

A great murder mystery.
Just the second Dorothy Sayers book I have listened to. Very entertaining and falling in love with Lord Peter Wimsey as well as the narrator's wonderful voice.

The Wait is Over
FINALLY, audible give us a new version of Lord Peter Wimsey with a MALE narrator. Mark Meadows did an excellent job. It's Dorothy L Sayers, what's not to like. Looking forward to collect the rest of the titles in this series.

Enjoyed it except for the end
I enjoyed Sayers observations of the human condition as well as the mystery; however the end of the book just rehearsed information she previously revealed. It was redundant and hard to listen to. I gave the review four stars because the reader gave an excellent performance. I especially liked his portrayal of the women. Very humorous.

Wow….
At first, just a nice warm cosy mystery with an interesting set of characters and plot line absolutely perfect for the mystery lover … But then the shallow, aristocratic, pretty boy shows his depth of character, and intense trauma… Which just put this book on an entirely new level.
Now I know why it’s classic.
