Story
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Everything I’d known about the world was a lie. On my thirteenth birthday, I, Alcatraz Smedry (yes, I got named after a prison, don’t ask), received my inheritance: a bag of sand. And then I accidentally destroyed my foster parents’ kitchen. It’s not my fault, things just break around me, I swear! I thought the sand was a joke until evil Librarians came to steal it. You’re probably thinking, “Librarians are nice people who recommend good books,” but that’s just what they want you to think!

Story

With permission from Brandon
I was concerned about buying this because I couldn’t find out if this was an unauthorized version that would cheat the author. I searched online and asked some fan sites and no one knew. I decided to try it and finally at the end credits it was confirmed that this was created with permission from Brandon Sanderson. The performance was very enjoyable and I am happily getting the rest.

Fun and captivating story
I really enjoyed the book. I was hesitant after reading some of the reviews. I definitely like the traditional audio book but this was a lot of fun. I didn’t mind the sound effects. I also purposely didn’t listen to the prose sample in Arcanum Unbounded so I wouldn’t try to compare it. I love the Cosmere and am truly excited about Sand Mastery and the innovative nature of a planet that does not rotate.

Brandon Sanderson Graphic Novel? Yes please!!!
Three things combined to make this awesome: Brandon Sanderson's writing, a full audio cast, and graphic novel. I can't wait to start volume 2!

Awesome Story and Experience
This was an amazing story and as my first graphic audio, it was an outstanding experience. Volumes 1-3 tell a fantastic story arc and it is enhanced by the cast and sound effects.

Great story, too much aargh, mphfff etc.
The story is very interesting I really liked it. However it was like a Dragon ball episode. It was full of aaargh and other sounds like this. Those were a but too much. Also at the end of the audiobook there is a recomendqtion which starts with a huge scream. That was way too loud and horrible.

Don't like the performance: love the story.
Books are about imagination and immersion to make the story feel real to me and I can't do that with this loud overbearing sound effects and screaming actors. I love to fall asleep listening to my stories so I can dream of being there. That was taken away from me on this story and it's sad because the story is fantastic alone. It didn't need all of that chaos. It reduces the quality of this story over all.

My first foray into graphical audio
I concur with one of the commenters below that say that this feels like a Star Wars story, in that it has the general vibe and pacing. Personally, I enjoyed my first graphical audio experience very much. It's unfortunate that this was split into three parts, which may be drawing the ire of some people here. However, given the amount of production that goes into sound design and voice acting, I'm not too surprised.
Overall, an interesting exploration of culture (Sanderson's specialty), and a fun imagining of how a society could work on a tidally-locked planet. (On a side note, in real life probably the winds would be extremely violent on a tidally locked planet given the temperature differentials, with the high-pressure cold air from the night side rushing in to fill the space left by the rising hot air on the day side.)
