Great but wished it synced with book

Loved it but wished it synched with Kindle book. As it helps with retention.

Too hard to understand

Enjoyed the continuation of the original story but very hard to understand the Spanish speaking parts.

So much Spanish without interpretation

Wish the author would’ve used less Spanish or would have had interpreted for us non Spanish speakers.

Hard to understand part of the book.

The story was great, but a good portion of the book spoken in Spanish, with no translation. It makes it very difficult to understand part of the story.

Too much Spanish

Just like all the Coven books, this one is a great addition. I like Inez and Foster a lot. I don’t agree with the author saying this is a standalone book and that you don’t have to have read the others. If you don’t/haven’t, you won’t understand the backstory at all regarding Amelia and Maddox, Koth’s leadership style, what’s been going on with the war and Lilith up to the point Inez was chosen via prophecy and many other small things. You’ll be confused. At least a little bit. So I highly recommend you follow Chandelle’s website reading order.

That said, the narrator does a fantastic job as she always does, with tone, inflection and voice impressions, as well as with her Spanish. We get tiny bits of it from Paulina in previous books, but this is the first book with SO MUCH Spanish. Most readers choosing a book written in English, want to read/listen to it in English. It makes the story very hard to follow, understand and appreciate the nuances. I’ve no idea what possessed the author to write this much Spanish into her storyline but it isn’t appropriate this late in the Coven series.

Translation would be easier to do in written form, but for narrating an audiobook? All the Spanish should’ve been spoken in English with a Hispanic accent. Like she has with 99% of what Paulina says.

I feel like I paid a premium for half a book and now I also feel like I need to go read the text to translate it myself so I fully understand what’s been said. Homework when reading for fun is NOT fun.

There was a lot of Spanish speaking and no translation which was frustrating. Enjoyed the book though!

As a native Spanish speaker…

I think the Spanish takes away from the book. I love the representation, and the narrator does her best but I wish there was 80% less Spanish. A few words here and there cool, but if I wanted to listen to a book in Spanish I would’ve looked for a book in Spanish.

Everything about this is beautiful I Love everything about and the series as a whole just done so well!!

Incredible

This book was fantastic from beginning to end to the end. The way it was written with such detail and vividly placed analogies enhanced the over all experience. So far all of the books in this series has been awesome.

You need to speak Spanish!

I loved this book but I am unable to understand the Spanish so it was hard and I had to stop listening and READ THE BOOK! You miss so much of you can't understand it. I had to keep using the Kindle translate function so it took longer to read
