Publisher's summary

A Warhammer Horror audio drama.

A ship becalmed in space needs repairs. Fortunately, a nearby watch station offers refuge. Surely nothing can go wrong for the crew of the Fortune's Favour?

Listen to it because: Atmospheric, tense, terrifying...it's an audio experience tailor-made to chill you, and from the opening drama to the tense conclusion, you'll be on the edge of your seat.

The story: In the midst of a vast gas nebula lies a remote watch-station, hanging silently against a tapestry of dying stars. It sits alone, patiently awaiting lost travellers adrift in the freezing vastness of the void. To such souls it appears as a blessing, a safe haven from the warp storms that wrack the immaterium and destroy the ships of those foolish enough to test the tides.

To Captain Arq and her crew, it is one thing - refuge. But things are never so simple.

Written by Rachel Harrison. Running time approx. 77 minutes. Performed by Grace Andrews, Steve Conlin, Matthew Hunt, Jonathan Keeble, Carla Mendonca, Colleen Prendergast, David Seddon and David Sibley.

Good Horror

I love the full casting, sound effects, and music. Wish it was longer, but 'oh well'.

Warhammer’s ‘Event Horizon’

In 1997, the movie ‘Event Horizon’ was released to negative reviews, but developed a strong cult following over the years, particularly among the Warhammer community for how it depicted the Warp and all it’s threats and dangers. One of the writers even admitted to being influenced by 40k when writing the story.

‘The Way Out’ is 40k’s take on ‘Event Horizon’. A rather short, but gripping and terrifying story about a crew seeking refuge from the Warp at a seemingly abandoned station, but this being 40k, the station is far from abandoned.

Bomber

So good. A perfect 40k addition to lovecrafts works. Great blend of gothic and cosmic horror

Fantastic Performance

The voice acting and ambiance really do a lot to enhance the story instead of being over the top.
I’m also kind of iffy about the cost when compared to length as it's more than some movie rentals and runs about the same time. Different mediums, I know, but 🤷‍♂️.

Event Horizon 40K

Basically Event Horizon with a 40K skin, and that's not a bad thing. Fantastic VA's and a great story. I got hooked and ended up listening to the whole thing in one sitting. Hope they release more like this!

Captivating, immersive

Solid audiobook, and I go back into it a month ago, if you are a Warhammer fan from the 40K , Warhammer. Captivating immersive, and overall a good lesson from yours truly, Sir , Chauncy.

Good overall.

Good. Fun. Unique. Not a must have or must read though. Simple enough story line.

Mix Lovecraft and Silent Hill in space

it's great. it's like you take a dash of Lovecraft with elements of Silent Hill and throw it on a dilapidated space station. The voice acting is phenomenal.
