Publisher's summary

When war wages, even innocents perish. Two years have passed, and the war between the kingdoms of Shen and Wei rages on. The dark sect moves in the shadows, striking against the noble Verdant Green Waters Sect, damaging, killing and kidnapping their members.

Among the victims is Fairy Yang, Wu Ying's martial sister. On a desperate quest to retrieve her, Wu Ying finds himself caught up in inter-sect politics and headed straight for a trap. Tragedy awaits, but some paths a man must walk, no matter the cost.

The Second Storm is the sixth novel in the A Thousand Li series, a book about immortal cultivation, wondrous martial arts, evil cultivation sects and spirit beasts. This series will be loved by those searching for wuxia, xianxia and progression fantasy works and those looking for a more westernized cultivation story. The Second Storm is written by Tao Wong, the best-selling sci-fi and fantasy LitRPG author of The System Apocalypse, Adventures on Brad, and the Hidden Wishes series.

The journey continues

The story has both strong and weak moments but this one felt like it had the greatest sorrow of all of the story so far

I have yet another problem...

This series lacks consistency and it drives me crazy because it's very good and has so much potential... The biggest part of the ending from the previous book the 7 winds cultivation manual with was all sacred and unattainable (yet he attained it) was mentioned maybe twice this book. The crux of an entire nook completely tossed and it seemed as if he gained nothing over 2 years. That's BS. That's questionable writing honestly (this is the only book series I've ever criticized and I hate doing it) The rest of the book was very enjoyable I thought it was a good twist and turn from the series I think the ending was extreme but still really good!

An amazing entry. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

I thoroughly enjoyed this entry into the series. After finishing book 5, I had caught up in my revisit to the series and I thought this book was amazing. So so amazing. The slow progression of the MC throughout the series as well as the way that his perception of himself and the world around him shifts is oh so satisfying. Loved every bit of it.

Bloody Story

Tao Wong’s A Thousand Li: The Second Storm was a great read. It had everything you love about the series. Then it went one up. Made it bloody. Bodies dropped. Lots of people died. Lots. Certain sections I wish had been longer but that’s just me being greedy. DRmz 5-17-24

one of the better steps on the road

I had a hard time with one of the books in the middle of this series as it was hard to get through.

but the last book and this one was fantastic. I look forward to the next step.
