#1 Bestseller in Psychological Thrillers in Kindle Store!
After years as a homicide investigator in a big city, Detective Sidney Becker accepts the position of police chief in her hometown—a peaceful mountain community in Oregon. Life is good. Beautiful scenery. Low crime. Close to family. Then a woman is found brutally murdered in the woods. The staging of the body resembles a victim found in the same area years earlier. The case went cold. Now the killer has come out of hiding. The only clue found at the crime scene is an origami butterfly with a handwritten verse inside. Sidney finds she is pitted against a killer more cunning than any she has faced before. She must decode his cryptic message and lure him into the open—before he strikes again.Related to this topic

Story
It was 1970 in a defeated Rhode Island fishing town. Vietnam and Nixon dominated the national news. Both the near and distant future looked bleak. But they were five inseparable high school friends with something incredible in common: an unwavering resolve to look after each other no matter what hell life threw at them. And they were on a mission. The plan was simple: Go off the grid before they turned 18 to avoid the draft. They’d sell some grass, stack some cash, then head west and start a commune. What could possibly go wrong?

Story
They called him Leonardo - a master skilled in the art of murder. One year ago, Cincinnati was his canvas. A scalpel was his tool. And women were his works-in-progress. FBI profiler Casey McKinley was one of them, a victim of Leonardo's twisted genius. She has the scars - and the nightmares - to prove it. For Casey, a new city means a life far from the one she left behind in Cincinnati. In San Francisco she finally feels safe. Until a series of eerily familiar slayings plunges her back into Leonardo's game.

Ai reading story is horrible
The story was really good, however the fact that they had AI read it ruined the story. The reflection on the words were horrible.

Terrible narration.
Great story but the narration is so bad that it makes it a struggle to listen to. I’d rather have Alexa read it to me.

Excellent writing. The “reader” could be better with a live person. I’ll look for more books by this writer.
AI reader was obvious in some pronunciations. Overall good writing. I’ll read more by this writer. I never would have guessed the killer.

The horrible narration
The narration was horrible. Emotionless or inappropriate emotion. It was at times distracting, pausing at the wrong time. The story was good but the narrator detracted tremendously from it!

Fake Voice- HORRIBLE
Virtual Voice narration is horrible. I made it to the 4th chapter and couldn't go any further. It's a shame because the book itself was good,, I just couldn't take any more..

Horrible computer generated voice
The story was good but I couldn’t listen to the computer generated voice. Flat, even, no expression - you couldn’t even pretend it was a real voice. Couldn’t finish listening to the book due to this.

AI reader
I don't even know what the story was about. The AI "reading" the book was just a dead monotone sound that I couldn't pay attention to. I didn't see that it was narrated by a virtual voice so I bought 4 or 5 of this woman's books that I can't return. If anyone wants to listen to the virtual voice I suggest you buy one book (better if you can get it free to listen to). My son says it's old AI that the newer AI is better I don't know but I'm going to be careful about buying my books now that I know they may be narrated by a Virtual Voice.
