Publisher's summary
JEKYLL & HYDE meets THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE in this dark and twisting thriller from the author of Bad Parts.
Kelly O’Neill hates many things—her dead-end job, her passionless marriage, her strained relationship with her daughter—but none more than the month of September.
Each year, a sinister letter arrives in her mailbox, a chilling reminder of her past misdeeds sent by a grieving mother. But this year, as the message reaches Kelly, a nightmarish entity attacks her daughter Emma within the confines of an eerie abandoned house. Though physically unharmed, Emma is left mysteriously unable to walk after the incident.
As Emma struggles to recover, Kelly ventures into the house's attic, desperate to unravel the source of the horror. To her astonishment, she encounters a doppelganger—an exact replica of herself, with the same appearance, voice, and mannerisms.
Determined to understand her daughter’s worsening condition, Kelly captures the doppelganger and demands answers. But instead of answers, she receives another vengeful letter in the mail. This time, the threat is clear—Kelly must confront her own dark past or risk losing her daughter forever.
In a heart-pounding race against time, Kelly must navigate a treacherous alliance with her doppelganger and piece together the connection between the house, the letters, and their malevolent sender. Will Kelly uncover the truth and save her daughter before they both succumb to a morbid fate?

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Story
I stare at the messages between my husband Rob and another woman, their plans to run away together bringing tears to my eyes as I stand, trembling, in our luxurious apartment. I thought I had the perfect marriage. As our three beautiful children sleep soundly in the next room, I think about our family holidays, our romantic date nights, and the day Rob proposed to me. In the last few months, I haven’t complained about his late-night meetings or got jealous about his weekends away. I trusted my husband. But now I’m questioning everything.

Story
Every Monday, I meet my writing group in a warm, lively bar to drink a glass of wine or two and share our work. It’s the highlight of my week. I don’t go out much, otherwise. For the last ten years, every time I’ve relaxed, the messages have started again. The black hearts. They’re a warning to remember, as if I could ever forget. Whoever sent them wants to hurt me. They’ve lost me jobs and boyfriends. Is it any wonder I like to hide in fiction?

You’ll be safe here. That’s what the greasy tour guide tells the Farmer-Bowens when they visit Plymouth Valley, a walled-off company town with clean air, pantries that never go empty, and blue-ribbon schools. On a very trial basis, the company offers to hire Linda Farmer’s husband, a numbers genius, and relocate her whole family to this bucolic paradise for the .0001%. Though Linda will have to sacrifice her medical career back home, the family jumps at the opportunity. They’d be crazy not to take it. With the outside world literally falling apart, this might be the Farmer-Bowens last chance.

But immortality is a heavy burden, and Clotho, Lachesis and Atropos are captivated by the gloriously human lives of the mortals below, especially those of the great warrior Atalanta and her ill-fated lover, Meleager. However, being a Goddess of Fate doesn't make you a master of it. Will these three sisters find a way to free the couple, and themselves, from their destinies? Or will they be bound by Fate forever?

Well paced and addictive from start to finish
I listened to the entire novel in less than 72 hours. It’s gripping in a way that had me making excuses to drive or cut grass or engage in literally any solitary activity in order to listen to another chapter and advance the story! The performance is excellent and I like how there’s such definite distinctions between all of the voices that make it easy for a listener to discern who’s speaking. The story itself was full of twists and turns. I’m usually pretty good at predicting where a story will go but I was way off this time. This is a 5 out of 5 star work. Highly recommended!

Perhaps the most thrilling and terrifying…
…is the self reflection of seeing the characters in yourself as you read/listen. McNulty’s latest delves into places I shudder to think about and I love it.

Engaging Story and Narration
The story is gripping and unique. the characters are relatable. The pacing is perfect and each scene moves seamlessly. The narrator captures the feel, and provides a distinct voice to each character without sounding cartoonish.
