Publisher's summary

A fiery young witch contends with magical adversaries, courtly fights, and unexpected attractions in this romantasy set in the world of the House Witch.

Lady Katarina Ashowan has never quite fit the mold of a noblewoman—and it's not only because she's a mutated fire witch. Though she's the closest friend and confidant of Alina, the soon-to-be-coronated queen of Troivack, Kat would much rather play cards with questionable characters or steal out at night to go riding than bandy niceties with suitors and deal with affairs of state. So as soon as Alina is officially crowned, the young witch plans to put away her dresses and get into some real adventure, training with a master swordsman.

But her journey to knightly prowess is proving more complicated than she thought it would be. For one thing, her future teacher isn't exactly thrilled at the prospect of their arrangement. Worse, unknown adversaries seem determined to stop Alina from actually assuming the throne. Kat's magical abilities, meanwhile, keep growing and changing in unpredictable and potentially dangerous ways. And despite her best efforts, she still can't manage to suppress her attraction to Alina's brother, Eric, the crown prince of Daxaria . . .

Filled with heart-pounding duels and enchanted encounters, witty wordplay and swoon-worthy flirtations, The Burning Witch 2 is the humorous, thrilling continuation of a charming series set in the unforgettable universe of the House Witch.

The second volume of a new spin-off of the hit romantic-fantasy series that has more than a million views on Royal Road—now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible!

Amazing story.

Great instalment to the first book. Although I did notice some inconsistencies in the character voices.

The Housewitch series is a fun read.

The story is fun and there are some genuine moments in the story where the dialog makes you laugh out loud. I enjoyed it.

That said, the romantic tension is built in the most annoying way possible. Kat is also a bit of a Peggy Sue when it comes to swordplay.

Wonderful

Delemhach has done it again! I absolutely love these books. They're full of humor, excitement, adventure, and romance. I can't wait for the next book to see how Finn reacts to all the news.

Matthew Wolf is the best male narrator ever! He does the story and the characters justice. I don't particularly like male narrators, but Matthew is the exception. I could listen to him read all day, everyday.

The most interesting characters

I love the story, but it is the very humanity of the characters that makes it so special, and then on top is the fanciful magic aspects.

Man oh man, I love this series!!!!!

Man oh man, I am in love with this series!

I actually started backwards. I read the first Burning Witch book first, then realized that there was a tremendous amount of back story that I was missing, so I went and found The House Witch series. Then I read all 4 of those books. It actually took me a couple of minutes coming back to this book to remember where we were in the story because I had been so far back in their history with the prior series, but once my mind cleared up, I was ready to go.

This book has us back with Kat and Alina in Troivack. Alina is about to be crowned and Kat is still causing raised eyebrows. The thing between Prince Eric and Lady Kat is apparent to EVERYONE - well, except to the two of them.

Lady Kat finally gets the opportunity to go train in swordsmanship and she ends up at the family estate of Leader Faucher and that opens the door to all kinds of new characters that I ended up falling in love with. Faucher himself is the best type of character, a gruff and stern soldier who is frustrated with having to deal with Kat. Worried about how it might impact his family and who ends up falling head over heels for the impetuous redhead and who then ends up being an amazing father like figure to her. Not to mention all of his adult children..... truly all wonderful characters.

Then there is Kat. She is truly one of the best all time FMC's. She is strong, but still vulnerable. She is a mess but she realizes it and most of the time she ENJOYS creating chaos. She is compassionate but does not suffer fools lightly. If she can ever get a handle on her magic, she is going to be one heck of a threat - not that she isn't already....

There is so much going on in this series. Many, many bad guys who want to see Queen Alina killed and want to stop any changes that King Brendan is making. Then there are the magical threats - who exactly is the good guy here? And then Da is coming. The House Witch is on his way.

What is he is going to find when he arrives.....?????

I
CAN'T
WAIT!!!!!!!
