Well done and provides practical view on sobriety

Well researched and detailed description of sobriety and its positive effects across the board. Having family members who struggle with alcoholism, this was a great insight into the struggles of the disease and the benefits of turning things around. I liked how the author puts things in very practical and simple terms. It was also quite entertaining and funny at times. Having 2 books in 1 was also nice- a good value and worth a listen. Highly recommended!

Listening to this will leave you empowered to quit

This was so inspiring to listen to - I've toyed with sobriety on and off, but hearing all of the positive benefits to be gained & all of the extremely harmful effects to be lost is exactly what I needed to commit to making the decision to be sober for good. A really great resource for anyone contemplating getting sober.

Eye opening! Break the habit.

What a great listen and an important topic in our world. “It’s not about what you give up it’s about what you get back”

It has always disturbed me how our world is controlled by certain things. Alcohol is on the top of the list. It’s everywhere and easily obtained. From a consumer standpoint it is also probably one of the most marked up products when purchased by the glass or shot.

It’s a right of passage for kids to adults. We use it to celebrate and also when we are sad or depressed. I’ve seen so many things ruined by the control or pressure people feel to use it.

Now that I no longer consume alcohol I feel like all my senses are heightened and it gives me a different perspective of everything. Not to mention my health has drastically improved as well as my savings account.

Highly recommend this book and hope anyone reading it or listening to it appreciates how it will change your life for the better.

Transform your life

The author has transformed his life from being an alcoholic and cocaine addict to a life of sobriety where he is a life coach and a strength and conditioning coach. His story is inspirational.

He explains the downsides of drinking and its harmful effects to our physical, mental, social and financial health in ways I had never considered. One quote I love is: Sobriety delivers everything alcohol promised.

I teach fatherhood education and was particularly interested in the chapter on drinking and parenting. The author says, being a boozy parent is a life of never feeling that you’re good enough. Parenting presents challenges to your finances, your mental health, your sleep, your daily routine, and your ability to relax. Alcohol does not help you with any of those things. If fact, it makes all of those problems worse. No child is going to grow up and tell you that you were a better parent because you were drinking all the time.

The book talks about how sobriety leads to better health, more money, better relationships, more success, and happiness on a deeper level than ever before. He talks about how his transformation started when he got involved in the 12-Step program.

I would definitely recommend this book.

Perspective changing, this book is essential!

This work was amazingly done by the author, highlighting how many factors of the habit of drinking can harm our performance. I loved the fact that even if someone doesn't drink at all, looking through this lens with a greater knowledge of self creates a much wise perspective of your surroundings, your achievements, and the capability we bury because of bad habits! Excellent!

SOBER UP!

I have witnessed far too many people who are unable to move on from their past issues or take the next step in their lives. These things may seem to be dragging us down. The good news is that all it takes is one step in a new direction.

When I listened to this book, dry January had just started. I feel inspired to live a dry life after listening! I wonder why I need alcohol when the health advantages are sufficient in and of themselves. Based on his personal experiences, the author makes it abundantly evident that although the road to sobriety can be challenging, it is well worth it.

This book is a fantastic starting step if you're struggling with sobriety, and it could be the start of something new for you.
Whether you are a casual drinker or struggling with a more serious addiction, I highly suggest this book.
Excellent work.

Great Read

I enjoyed this book because I have been sober for several years after battling with an alcohol addiction myself. And the author is correct, my life has been a lot more fulfilling and full of clarity since. I know a lot of people that would benefit from this book and I can't wait to tell them about it.
