Publisher's summary

Sophia never thought she was unlucky until she was kidnapped by aliens. Twice . . .

Sophia had simple expectations for her planetary tour. She assumed she'd see the sights, meet new people, and fend off her boredom. She never thought she'd end the trip as an alien captive. But here she is, the guest of a grumpy, sexy, warrior king who looks at her like he's not sure if he wants to kill her, or claim her as his own . . .

Sikthand hadn't planned to take the stubborn little human hostage. But with political tensions at an all-time high, he had no choice. He would unflinchingly use her as a bargaining chip to secure better relations with the new Tremantian ruler. He would not, however, fall prey to her charms. No matter how tempting she might be . . .

When Sophia and Sikthand realize how far their enemies are willing to go to grab galactic power, they're forced into an unlikely alliance-and possibly a marriage of convenience-to protect their people. It's a good plan, too . . . if they don't do anything irrational along the way. Like falling in love . . .

Contains mature themes.

I love this series!

Thank you Victoria Aveline for the Clecanian series! I patiently wait for the audiobooks to be released because Stephen Dexter does such a good job narrating them. Now I’m patiently waiting for Rhago’s story. 😘😘😘

Best author ever

I’m not a big fan of the female main character. Mostly how ok she was with the miserable way she was treated since the beginning. She seems to be into weird stuff so she lets things flow. I personally didn’t like both mains characters very much but this author is amazing regardless. And the narrator is the best. Honesty, I think the author is my favorite of all times. She is so creative and talented. Book worth it.

Best book of the series by FAR.

This is such a great book!!! I love how we’re introduced to Sikthand in the previous book and then in this book get SO much more about him and his city. His city is amazing! And it’s so nice to see tats as a beauty mark instead of gross. The plot twists were twisting! Sophia is an AMAZING character and Sikthand’s paranoia and distrust of everyone and everything was just fun to follow as he slowly grew to love and trust her. I am not even lying that I finished this book in exactly ONE day. I was captivated the whole way through and just couldn’t put it down! I love this series!

I am also SO intrigued by where these alien politics are going to go from here. The stakes have risen to an intergalactic level and it makes me wonder if the next book will see the human world opening OR if the next book is just going to be the political power struggle side of it. I’m hoping for both as this new update has left me really wanting more. What will the new ambassador do to get humans on the planet?

Gah, this book was so satisfying yet it also leaves me craving so much more. I cannot wait for the next book. 10/10 series!!
