Publisher's summary

A shrouded truth. A secret sustained. A lie protects it all.

Digby secured a fragile peace agreement between the empire and Las Vegas. While it’s been only two weeks since then, the city has thrived. A lot can change when no one is trying to smite you off the face of the earth. Unfortunately, more success just means more to lose, and with Henwick hell-bent on finishing what he started, Digby needs power. Enough to protect himself, his friends, and the all-too-fragile peace.

With spies watching his every move, he must uncover the history of the Nine and discover the origin of the Heretic Seed’s power. From there, a treacherous path unfolds before him. With the help of a reluctant vampire, he’ll need to pull off his most ridiculous plan yet; without starting a war in the process.

In a world where lies hold power, sometimes the truth is better left untouched.

this was a lot of fun

I love the entire Series so far and though I would call this one more of a filler book you can tell it is for set up of the next book and it was still really good. don't get me wrong I still enjoyed the character growth with a few of the characters and the plot twist with Parker is interesting so overall still definitely worth a listen.

Digby lives! Kinda

Petrie “sleighs” it again. Travis Baldree delivers a brilliant performance. Loved the twists and turns in the installment. Can’t wait for the next one. Carrot!!

LOVE IT!

Love this series. Character development is just out of this world, and they constantly (and organically) evolve every new entry!

So this is Christmas…

The new story points in this book are so absurd, I love it. I was never fully able to guess what they were going to do next— Absolute insanity!

It’s crazy how far everyone’s come, and I’m looking forward to what I assume is gonna be a conclusion in the next book or the one after!

Not what I expected but apparently what I needed. Hilarious with a few mind flipping twists.

Phenomenal story and excellent reading

The story delves into concepts that I've always been intrigued by. It touches on what has always been my personal belief philosophy through the years. It actually made me feel further characters, in the good and the bad. The emotional roller coaster is real! The only downside or negative that I can say about this unfortunately, there's two points where the reader uses the wrong voice entirely. It technically could be excused, but I found it jarring enough to take me out of the immersion each time.

My favorite in a while

both David Petrie and Travis Baldree killed it this time. The writing is amazing and hilarious and the narration just adds to it

Merry Christmas

I feel like a summer release was a missed opportunity. But still a lot of fun.
