Story
Here, the FUBU founder and star of ABC's Shark Tank shows that, far from being a liability, broke can actually be your greatest competitive advantage as an entrepreneur. Why? Because starting a business from broke forces you to think more creatively. It forces you to use your resources more efficiently. It forces you to connect with your customers more authentically and market your ideas more imaginatively.

Publisher's summary
The best-selling author and star of ABC’s Shark Tank reveals how to master the three prongs of influence: reputation, negotiation, and relationships.
Have you ever wanted to make a big change in your life but weren’t sure where to start? In Powershift, Daymond John shares the answer. To take control of your destiny and drive the change you want to see, you need to lay the groundwork so you’re prepared to seize every opportunity that comes your way. And that means mastering
- Influence - make an impression: Develop a reputation that highlights what you stand for.
- Negotiation - make a deal: Hone a win-win negotiating style.
- Relationships - make a connection last: Nurture those connections you make along the way.
Through never-before-told stories from his life and career, Daymond shares the lessons that got him to where he is today: from how he remade his public image as he transitioned from clothing mogul to television personality, to how he mastered the negotiation strategies that determine whether deals are won or lost "in the tank," to his secrets for building long-lasting - and profitable - relationships with founders and brands.
Throughout the audiobook, some of the world’s most successful personalities reveal how they shifted their power in meaningful ways:
Kris Jenner on determining your value: "You don’t have to go ask somebody else for permission. You have the power to be able to stick to your guns and demand your worth."
Mark Cuban on finding and understanding your why: "Time is the one asset we don’t own, we can’t buy, and we can never get back."
Pitbull on tapping into your inner power: "A lot of people feel that to be powerful is to exude strength. I think it’s the total opposite. To be powerful is to be powerless. It’s when you give everybody what you got."
Whether you’re an innovator working to turn your big idea into a reality, a professional looking to land a major promotion, or a busy parent trying to find more time to focus on what’s really important to you, Daymond shows you how to shift your power and energy towards positive change.

The Myth: If you get into a good college, study hard, and graduate with excellent grades, you will be pretty much set for a successful career. The Reality: The biggest thing you won't learn in college is how to succeed professionally. Some of the smartest, most successful people in the country didn't finish college. None of them learned their most critical skills in an institution of higher education. And like them, most of what you'll need to learn to be successful you'll have to learn on your own, outside of school.

Good Booj
This was just what was expected. Daymond John provided great success tips and knowledge to success and life overall. What stood out to me was when he broke down over-delivering and doing for others without the expectation of receiving anything. Another point he made was finding out your why and purpose. Most people want to be millionaires but why, in order to reach that goal you have to know your why and your purpose first and foremost.

Strength
Its a very strong book. And it’s easy to understand. I was able to use what I learned and started my own podcast. If you really read these reviews look up BrantCast on YouTube and like something that your book helped create. Thanks for writing powershift. It changed my life and the power of broke helped too.

Great Read, Do The work!
Once again, great content and examples from people who have “done the work.” Definitely a motivator to shift the direction by putting in the work.

Motivational as always!
Daymond always has something very motivational to say. The delivery is always on point & you’re reminded that you can do anything if you just put some effort, some action & your mind to it! I plan to read all of Daymond’s books! This is my second read of his! Thank you Daymond for sharing your thoughts, tips & experiences! ❤️ Miik
