good but disappointed

The story was good. However I'm very disappointed that the narrator is narrator is different than the last 7 books. It really changes the entire layout. She talked way too fast and just didn't have the same personality that I have come to love in all of that series.

The writer had me guessing.....

I am sure there are others who could guess the "Who did it", but it eluded me!

New narrator

The new narrator is very hard to follow. Kitty and Matt sound way too much alike now. I often thought that one of them was speaking and then the other one would enter the room and I’d realize I had it backwards. Kitty also sounds way too pretentious now.

Great

A wedding always brings out the villains! Murder and mayhem have Matt and Kitty at it again!

Narrator change should be noted

I love this series, and after 6 books I got accustomed to hearing each character and their uniqueness expressed by the narrator. But I was surprised to find that the narrator for book 7 changed, and found it hard at some points to distinguish each character from the other. I really hope the narration will get better with next books or else bring the old narrator back; either way; Audible should put a warning when narrators of long series change.

Interesting story

Agree with the other reviewers, story is interesting, narrator awful. Kitty went from a sweet young thing to an old posh lady. Not the same Kitty as the prior readings.

I miss the previous reader

While I do appreciate the need for the previous narrator to move on in her life, I miss her voice in these stories. Dear Polly doesn’t give Kitty a feminine voice, nor does she give some statements the tone needed for dramatic emphasis.
I wish her the best in future readings. I hopefully we can all get used to the voices performed.

Awful narration

Loved the first few titles of this series but this narrator was a terrible choice.

Don’t care for the new narrator

I enjoyed the new setting and the introduction of new characters in this story but the new narrator makes Kitty sound like such a snob. Her and Matt both sound like upper class snobs and not the genuine lovable people I have come to know in this series. Disappointing.

New narrator changes kitty Matt to pompous

I was very disappointed to hear the new narrator and how she portrayed kitty and Matt. All of a sudden kitty and Matt are pompous uppity people with this upper class type of accent. Not that they are not educated but the pompous drawls were so off putting. So very disappointing that I shut it off after 10 minutes and thought to just buy the book so I could continue on with who they were in my head in the previous audibles. The way this narrator, portrays kitty and Matt just changed the perception of them and who they are. Kitty is no longer this young vibrant woman. She’s this hoytie pompas uppity person who seems older And she portrays Matt the same way. That is absolutely not the way they sounded or were perceived in the prior storyline. because I already purchased the Audible I decided to finish it. Good story yes. Will I Buy another audible with this narrator? Absolutely NOT. I’ll buy an e-book and keep the characters voices that originally defined them in my head, and who I like a lot better. The only issue I found with the prior narrator was that you could not tell that Matt was a male she didn’t do male voices very well, but other than that she did a great job.
